JJ Grey & MOFRO, whose new CD ORANGE BLOSSOMS is receiving massive press and radio play around the country, debut their first-ever video for the title track (and first single) from the CD.
Directed by Spookie Daly (of the band Spookie Daly Pride), the film is a faux crime story telling of the seedy underbelly and corruption involved with Florida's dangerous and violent orange blossom industry.
Starring JJ Grey as crime boss Talmidge "Sweet Thang" Davis and guitarist Daryl Hance as enforcer Roy "Tater" Rothstein, the tongue-in-cheek story involves the rise and fall of the notorious and fierce North Florida flower syndicate. The story unfolds with closed-captioned narration while the song plays.

I'd like to see any blogs and or mog posts that are trying directly to sell me anything besides music gone, whether that be payday loans, "free" xboxes, clothing, sunglasses, what have you.
I'm with da Pimp on this one... I like my mogs and my blogs separate...

So far the majority seem to get their blog feeds via rss and prefer it that way...hmmm

as far as music blogs go, i mainly check out totally fuzzy, but i don't really need that here. and it probably would go against the status quo tide of the mogosphere.
i will be getting to see jj grey and mofro next weekend! and neko case, and spearhead as well. i'm going to be working on a sound crew at the smaller stage at a festival on wavy gravy's ranch in laytonville. should be a challange. trial by fire!

I get the jambase newsletter and that's definitely a good one! Interesting Orange Blossom story there too. : )
I've always been more fond of the communication and positivity here revolved around music more than anything. I've been drawn to the fact that the people responding are [mostly] sincere and real. But it's interesting to think what the new comers make of the site, I imagine the majority see it as a one stop shop and a little more generic than one would've seen last year when signing up. Hopefully the new comers will make their way around.
