The Answer is Mogging

Posted almost 4 years ago

No work today and I fell asleep shortly after getting home yesterday so now I'm up at some ungodly hour of the morning, 5am is ok but the hours between midnight and 4 I usually reserve for rest...so here I am insomniating and ready to nail up some more shingles on the old barn,

but it's too dark and quiet outside, besides I don't want to disturb the neighbors, (they're disturbed enough without my help),...

So I'll get back to scanning some old photos

and catching up with my fellow musicologists.

Have I told you lately how much I love you kids? You all help keep it fresh and alive. Thanks for being here and

Mog On!

Immigration Man - MoG

MõG dates from 1993. MõG (rhymes with rogue) is a word, in some traditional languages and folklore, that is said to mean shape shifter or shaman.

MõG was formed from numerous bands of various styles from Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. They recorded 4 CDs... "Hollis Crossing Live" (1993)... "Herman Says Play" (1995)... "too fisted" (1996)... and "Bizarre Medical Experiments" (1998). The last 3 CDs were recorded at the legendary Blue Jay Recording Studios outside Boston, MA.

And, yes, there is a music/social website called MoG.com which is now unrelated to the band. MoG.com was the band's original website, but an offer that couldn't be refused resulted in MõG selling it to the owner of GraceNote.com back in 2005.

So, Bruce, do you sometimes mog with umlauts or always without?

There were nights when I first joined Mog when I was up late on the west coast (U.S.) posting and getting no responses and I felt like I'd been failed. So just here letting you know it's always been a pleasure and there have definitely been times when Mog was my late night insomniac refuge. It would be better if I were more creative and able to use that every time I can't sleep but there's times my brain is semi-useless except for this sort of thing and the music stuff just pours out. And thankfully there are others somewhat like me.

Cheers, sleep well when you sleep, mog well when you don't.

Usually I mog alone Rob, but if the umlauts are lurking I invite them to join in.

Sometimes I want to go back and revisit everybody's "faied posts" that have ever been and leave a comment, there are some real jewels back there that sadly got overlooked.

    Cheers

Thanks Deb and everybody else that commented, sorry I didn't get back to this sooner. Lawn care ethics drive me crazy as well Deb, solve the gas problems by chucking all the blowers and whackers.

K, if you come make sure you bring your music collection and some of that Georgia barbecue ;)

Steve, I want to be in your neck of the woods, so many great shows out there.

J, my life is one long and constant intervention, only problem being it's me that's doing the intervening.

Scot, looking forward to seeing some of your scans, you flickr?

The barn is getting there but still have a lot to do before it can be used for anything besides storage.

Poe, I tend to flex the wordage a bit heavily sometimes, possibly more than I ought.

Third shift mogging isn't all it's cracked up to be, the commenting gets dated pretty quickly ;)

73 degrees right now, and we just had a brief shower.

I'm on the coast, it doesn't get really cold until January usually and even then it's not really that bad.

Is your new home in the UK the same time zone as Greece? Pretty close I would suppose. Good Luck on the move (and with the accent).
