If I only had some friends to play with

Posted almost 3 years ago

Here's Stanley "Buckwheat" Dural Jr. and Warren Haynes on the title track for Buckwheat Zydeco's recently released "Lay Your Burden Down", (a Hayne's composition), these guys certainly get around. If only I was a musician maybe I could find some friends to play with too :)

and as long as we're playing with friends the vid is Branford Marsalis playing with Warren and The Dead at the Izod Center 2009/04/29 I Know You Rider. I caught one of the Worcester shows and was pleasantly impressed, the only problem being I wanted more, much, much more.

♪ Brother can you see the stars in the night?♪ Ahhh....LOVE this.  Can't wait to go get the whole album.  It's great to hear this classic Mule tune reinvented.

Is zydeco-ey a verb? "I woke this morning feeling quite zydeco-ey", hmmm, guess that works, kind of cajunesque perhaps :)

Ruh-Roh. Doesn't sound like Cajun/Zydeco to me. Has he gone off the rails?

There is some zydeco on the rest of the disc, but there's a whole lot of blues-based rock, as you tend to find on some of the Buckwheat records for the Alligator label.
