For The Doorman

This post is for "The Doorman" at Lupos Heartbreak Hotel (aka: Lupos at the Strand)Everybody knows a doorman; he's the one that tightens you up when you forgot to purchase tickets, introduces you to the band, and has a rock n' roll story for every occasion.Diggin' deep through "the doorman's" huge selection of vinyl yesterday, (my buddy Jim was searching for a Moby Grape), he shared this little gem with us - My Little Red Book , a punky/surf rock version of this song written by Burt Bacharach (read ugh!). Keep in mind that the year is 1966.and here's Toni Basil's take on it -
