Absolutely Feckin' Awesome (Lou Rhodes)!

!http://static.flickr.com/57/187088810_2870e6600d.jpg?v=0!I was really looking forward to seeing Lou Rhodes at the Jazz club, but I wasn't expecting to get blown away quite so completely... There's a quality to her voice that seems so strong but yet unreal, it just wraps you up and carries you away. It was a weird sensation, it sounds kinda cliched - but it felt how you'd imagine a tornado would feel (and no it wasn't the booze kicking in), or if you fell into a river (the rapid, maelstrom kind). But even though you felt like you were being swept away - there was still this warm comfortable feeling (ok - at this stage it might have been the booze), and you just knew that when you shot out of the other side everything was going to be just fine ....Awesome night, some great songs from the new album, a few new ones, and a fantastic performance of Gabriel. Oh, and I found out what 'Inlakesh' means!
