So how was "The Simpson's Movie" Mike?

Very funny (especially the first half), although leaning on a storyline, plot points and set-ups that are a little too familiar after 400 episodes of the series. Still, it's entertaining, smart and appropriately subversive.

Always loved The Simpsons for the great pop culture references sprinkled throughout. Thanks for letting me know about the movie. Are you going to write a review about it? If so I'd like to read it.

GC the Lips song is off my fav cd of theirs "Transmissions Of The Satellite Heart" which has the song "She Don't Use Jelly". It's a great album. Glad you like the song, it's pretty funny.

Goddamn fucking religion, it just fucks everyone up that it touches, I swear. I guess I'm old enough that I've been able to work through those thoughts & leave them behind for the most part. When you realize that religions are just manmade belief systems to define/control/manipulate our spiritual side you begin to let it go after awhile. Christianity was only chosen as THE main religion by Alexander The Great as a means to squelch the dominate belief at the time in worshipping the divine ability in women to be able to create life(children). He chose Christianity cause it centered on a man rather than a woman & used it to dominate women. The Bible is just a bunch of fairy tales about Jesus just like Grimm's fairy tales. It's total bullshit!

Btw, it's not religion itself that fucks up everyone up that it touches, it's the people, how they understand what they hear and how they act on it. You know, like a knife is just a knife and someone can decide if he's gonna use it to spread marmalade on his toast or cut his neighbor into pieces.

Anna, look 7 comments up from your's & I provided a link. And yes I realize it's the people behind the religion who misuse it. I also know that organized religion does do ALOT of good as well in promoting people to do the right things in life by instilling a sense of morals & helping people who are in need. I just know that I've been on the receiving end of judgement from religious people way too many times in my life which sucks a big one.

p.s. that kernel of truth is what the religious folk count on to keep people in the fold. If people hang on to those beliefs as insurance then the religious establishment has ya by the balls(so to speak, heh).

Also very true. Of course, I gave up on religion a mighty long time ago. It's God, or the concept of God, that I can't shake. Life would be easier if I could, but I can't quite. I do imagine him very differently than I think I am supposed to though..heh.

I call that spiritual presence the Universe. I can't shake it either as much as I've tried to ignore it, lol. The term "God" just has way too many negative connotations for me so I had to rename it to get around the conservative/negative definition I have w/that word. I'm a very spiritual person & my psyche won't let me be otherwise, damnit, lol.
