Ok, since Lizziegreeneyes is all about the eyes that are colored green, here's a song dedication for my green eyed girl. When I posted about seeing Erykah live earlier this month I mentioned she did this song & it was killer! And she got real nasty with it too: when she got to the part about making love one last time Ms. Badu started pulling down her tights around her beautiful booty & mooning her band, lol! That's my duurrrrrty girl, hehe!

This song encompasses the phases of a break up & has 3 "movements": denial, acceptance? & the relapse. I know I can surely relate to this!

THE BEST

This song is so smooth... mmmm mmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmm !!! & I can't fault a girl ever if she has a song title like Green Eyes ;) How does the saying go - Green eyes sing alike - after this song - I wish it were the saying :)

If I could click a box that said _LOVE Post_ - I would :)

POST IT PLEASE I am poor - I buy too many albums ;) Had she been on iTunes it would have been purchased - but the storms don't seem like they are letting up any time soon & I don't want to get my hair wet (she says smirking) - as my hair didn't stress me a day after 8th grade ;)

Oh yea, Andre 3000 & Erykah Badu have a son together by the name of Seven(yea, I know, freaky name but their both freaky creative artists)so that's what that song is referring to. I'm big into Outkast too. Andre also raps about meeting Erykah & having Seven on a song called "A Life In The Day Of Andre Benjamin(Incomplete)" on "The Love Below/Speakerboxx" cd.

I think I already told you I love Erykah. Tell me August, is "mama's Gun" your favourite album ?

My fav proper album of hers is her last one "Worldwide Underground" which came out in '03. It's much more hip hop based than her previous albums. Her "Erykah Badu Live" cd I keep going back to the most though but it's not a proper album since it has so many songs from her "Baduizm" cd. The "Baduizm" songs are so much better live & you get to hear her personality really come through which gives the songs so much warmth & life to the studio versions. Having said that, "Mama's Gun" is a great album too, don't get me wrong. I love all of her cds but I just seem to be drawn to the first two I talked about more.
