Are You Ready To Get Kinky?

Ok, I know you all have you're minds in the gutter & think I do too but this time I DON'T! Ha, ha, it's twue, it's twue it's weally, weally twue! I'm talking about the Mexican band Kinky who will be in concert at The Harmony Festival near where I live in a few weeks! June 10th to be exact(the day after Erykah Badu plays at the same fest). Woohoo!"Sister Twisted":I had the great fortune to stumble literally upon these guys performing live back on Sept. 30th(my birthday) at The Download Festival at The Southshore Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA. I had finished seeing another group perform & there was a break so I wandered over to the other stage on the other side of the grounds there. I heard this really upbeat, danceable music wafting my direction. I was so mesmerized by their movement onstage I just kept watching & soon they had me dancing & I didn't even know who they were yet! I asked a woman standing/dancing next to me and she told me who they were & that they were from Mexico. It was instant love since I love mexican culture anyway(hey I'm 1/4 hispanic myself, what can I say?). Any group that can get me moving in minutes even when I don't know who the hell they are is just fine by me.Here's a great clip of another song off "Reina","A Donde Van Los Muertos" live in Bogata. Which should give you a great idea of how lively & fun they are in concert:These guys are from the city of Monterey(2nd largest city after Mexico City), in the state of Nuevo Leon in Mexico. They formed in '98 & put out their first album "Kinky" in '02, "Atlas" in '04 & "Reina" in '06. They've been busy guys!
