Cotdayumm! Ms. Angie Stone needs *more* MOG love. What the hell is up with that people? You are all slippin' up on your Mog jobs so you're fired ya all, lmao!"Wish I Didn't Miss You"(Nice use of a sample from the O'Jays "Back Stabbers"):Angie Stone is a phenomenal singer who's a soulful r & b singer/songwriter who's been around for quite awhile now. From Wiki: "Stone was born in Columbia, South Carolina. In the early 1980s, Stone (then known as Angie B.) was a member of The Sequence, a major female hip-hop/funk group. They had a hit in 1980 with "Funk You Up", which peaked at number fifteen on the U.S. Top Black Singles chart. She then worked with Mantronix, before teaming up and performing vocals and saxophone for Lenny Kravitz.Stone emerged during the 1990s as part of R&B trio Vertical Hold which released the popular single "Seems You're Much Too Busy" as well as two albums: A Matter of Time (1993) and Head First (1995).In 1996, she teamed up with Gerry DeVaux (Lenny Kravitz's cousin) and together with Charlie Mole they formed Devox. They recorded one album, Devox Featuring Angie B. Stone, released in Japan only on Toshiba-EMI, including Stone-penned material.Stone shared songwriting credits on D'Angelo's first two studio albums, Brown Sugar (1995) and Voodoo (2000), as well as providing backing vocals on tour with him."She released her first solo cd in '99 with "Black Diamond" & has released two others "Mahogany Soul" '01 and "Stone Love" '04. She also released a hits cd in '05 and is getting ready to release a new cd later this year."Brotha":http://www.myspace.com/angiestoneonlinehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angie_Stone

  11. Augusts1 says Cipher, Angie's music is quite smooth yet w/ enough bump to keep ya movin'. Sis, you will always be in my employ! Debi, if you watch VH1 I'm surprised you didn't know of Angie until she was on 'Fit Club'. Her neo-soul style music is perfect for VH1. Kev, it's a great cd to kick back to, definitely! FP glad you enjoy her. She's great isn't she? Cody, thanks. Read the last paragraph I wrote in my post. Troy, you don't know the song "Brotha"? It was a huge hit for her. It's the second vid clip I posted. "Wish I Didn't Miss You" is one of my fav songs off this cd too.

  12. TroyPowers says I heard "Brotha" around a few times, but it didn't hit as hard as "I Wish..." Good stuff though.

  13. Augusts1 says Well, "Brotha" is a slower groove but it's so positive. "Wish I Didn't Miss You" has a darker sound & message to it but is more upbeat musically. Love the original O'Jays "Backstabbers" song too & loved it when I heard it on the radio back in the day(yea, I'm that old, lol, I was 12 when it came out in '72). Btw, I saw on your page your(durrrrrrty/funny) reference to the PJ Harvey song "Long Snake Moan". Love that song & PJ I adore & have all her cds. She's such a badass bitch & just totally rocks my world. I also have her live concert dvd "Please Leave Quietly" too which is great!

  14. TroyPowers says Actually, "Long Snake Moan" is the only PJ Harvey song I've heard. Got it on a mix from Chucky.

  15. Augusts1 says Sweet geezus, you are lost Troy, not knowing PJ's other music or Peaches till now, lmao! Um, I'll load the cd "To Give You My Love" to M in a bit for you to hear.
