Oh no no no no no NO! This ain't right! No posts about Missy Elliott? How can that be? Well that's about to be rectified right now.
I love me some Ms. Elliott & have four of her cds. Her first cd "Supa Dupa Fly" came out in '97 and she now has 6 proper cds & a greatest hits that was released internationally but not in the U.S. She's been one of the most prolific and popular female rappers. She also sings as well as writes most of her songs along with her producer Timbaland(although he wasn't on her last album "The Cookbook"). Missy is just so creative, hilarious, nasty & a hell of a lot of fun! Anyone who can do a song about fixing her hair & make it sound so cool is alright with me, check this song out: She just makes me laugh! And her videos are always very creative & funny. She always seems to have the most cutting edge videos w/incredible dance moves! Check this vid out called "Pass That Dutch":Missy came to my attention w/her cd "Miss E . . .So Addictive" and her songs/vids "One Minute Man" and "Get Ur Freak On". Just love both of those songs which got *me* addicted. Granted Missy is not for the wee ones cause she gets down & dirty in her songs but that's one of the main things I love about her, lol!Apparently there is a movie in the works about her life story too. That should prove to be quite interesting cause she's a fascinating rap artist. One of the few female or for that matter male rap artists who's truly innovative cause she pushes the boundaries of what defines hip-hop.
