WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Mr. Jones, I Presume?

Posted over 2 years ago
Alright my beautiful moggers, I made a trip to the library to drop off some dvds & pick up some more, but since I was there I decided to see if they had the Quincy Jones cd I posted about yesterday & sure enough it was there! So you lucky people are going to get a few more cuts off it. I know you are all so enthralled, heh! This is my 2nd favorite cut:Can you say gah-roooovy?!!! I knew you could!

  1. Augusts1 says I swear this song has been used in a movie too but I can't place it. Maybe you lovely moggers will have an idea: This is a good one too:

  2. Anonymous says Yes!! It's more Quincy Jones, every song sounded great. Really liked One Note Samba. Reminded me of James Bond and Goldmember. :) lol! Alot of good energy from all the trumpets as well as the other instruments. Another Great Post August!! :)

  3. Augusts1 says Yea the brass arrangements on these songs are amazing Desiree. Glad you enjoyed the songs. There is a spy movie element to these songs, that's true!

  5. Augusts1 says Uh, it's only a good thing if you don't act on it, lol! I guess that means the music is effective though.

  6. mktackabery says No time to listen to these Aug but I am very familiar with them; so happy you are getting into these records, they are classics. I adore Quincy; such a genius. Do you have some of those cocktail compilations? They have a lot of this period QJ.

  9. five-four says My favorite part of the song are the decending flutes. Cartoon brainwashing makes me associate that noise with a gust of wind and maybe a few skeletons.

  10. Rawkkiddoh says Nothing beats a score at the library, I went thursday and got 5 cds that will be making their way onto my computer. Great cuts by the way

  11. Augusts1 says Sis, aren't you at the beach now? Cool you appreciate Quincy too. I shoulda known, heh! FP Desanifido is a great song too. Thanks for the pic, lol. I own all three of the Austin Powers movies, so you didn't ruin anything for me! Why thank you Anna! You're pretty groovy for an adopted niece too, lol! 54, nothing wrong w/cartoon brainwashing. My introduction to some of the most famous pieces of classical music were through cartoons, so whatever avenue you get it from isn't bad as long as you get it! Tripbro, I get tons of stuff from the library. That's where I get most of my dvds from! They allow you to put up to 30 items on hold so I always have something waiting for me to watch. That's where I got "The Proposition"(soundtrack & screenplay written by Nick Cave) that I posted about a few days ago. I p/u Interpol's "Turn On The Bright Lights" & Cyndi Lauper's "At Last" as well. I've been accessing movies through the library since '00 or '01 so I've saved ALOT of money in rental fees. Besides, our tax dollars help pay for the library materials anyway so might as well use them!

  12. Rawkkiddoh says Thats what I say, plus it gives you a chance to check out bands that you wouldnt get a chance to otherwise. DVD's are such a big plus, I am thinking of canceling my netflix subscription just because of it.

  13. Augusts1 says Yes, it's a great opp to check out music you don't want to fork over money for. The only drawback though is that you have to wait awhile for the newer releases. But sometimes if I hit the site not long after they've posted a new release their isn't much of a line, which doesn't happen too often though.
