WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

You Can Make That Call Mr. Lee - FINALLY!!!

Posted over 2 years ago
Yippeeee!!!! Thanks to the almighty Mog Staff, especially Adam Siegel, who schooled me on the fact that not all music files are created equally Mogable. I learned that regular Windows Media Player(WMP) music files are not the same as mp3s. What can I say, I'm still learning! So I discovered that my WMP can convert my music immediately into mp3 files when ripping onto my puter. What a revelation. I'm such a technopeasant I know! Now I can finally upload the specific songs to the GD Mog player so watch out Mog O Sphere! I'm lethal w/a deadly Mogplayer, hehe!So here's my fav TV song that I was talking about on the post a few days ago. Dig it gang!

  2. Augusts1 says nice snow! didja listen to the song B42?

  3. B42 says Yeah, sorry for not "feeding back, it is good, reminds me of surf rock, the beat, the lead and the vocals, quite listenable :)

  4. Augusts1 says S'ok, just curious what ya thought. I love this song & the guitar work is amazing on it. It does have that surf rock reminiscence, true. I think the album this is off of is a really overlooked gem & much better than their "highly acclaimed" debut back in the '77. This cd was a comeback in 1992.

  5. deadmandeadman says Yes friend, Adam Siegel is indeed the babysitter supreme. I'd bet if he had a dollar for all we poor techno-babys he's guided, he wouldn't have to work. I'm waitin' to find out how B42 imbeds things in his comments!! As to the music..........

  6. Rawkkiddoh says Like the song August, and congrats with the winning of the technology battle. I speak for myself here, but sometimes I want to toss my computer out the window.

  7. Augusts1 says Yup, I totally hear ya Kev. Puters are awesome when they work correctly but when they don't, GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey what happened to you yesterday.?Nary a comment from you which is unusual.

  8. Rawkkiddoh says Had a soccer game late, and once back fell asleep watching the boob tube. I know, I am getting old and lame.

  11. Augusts1 says Cool, you go boy, lol! Glad you liked this song as well. The whole cd is great. I'll probably post a few more in the next few days. Deadman, Mog staff are actually pretty good if you contact them directly. I've posted in the help forums a couple of times & it took days before I got a response. Btw, you can embed images in the comments by copy/pasting, it's that simple.

  12. chucky says Glad you got it sorted out. I like the little "bwada bwa bwa bwa" bit in the song.
    Permalink posted 02/17/2007
  13. Augusts1 says wtf is the bwada bwa bwa bwa bit, lmao? could you elaborate a bit more Ms. Ashley? are you talking about the guitar sounds or vocals?
    Permalink posted 02/17/2007
  14. chucky says haha...I wondered if that was enough to go on, guess not. I meant the guitar bit. The song opens with it and then it repeats throughout.
    Permalink posted 02/17/2007
  15. Augusts1 says Oh, the lead guitar part. I love both guitar parts. The surf guitar adds so much atmosphere to the song. TV became famous for their dual guitar attack by Tom Verlaine(who sings) & Richard Lloyd. When they broke up due to Richard's drug use, Tom went solo & put out some critically acclaimed albums over the years. Not sure what he's doing these days. This cd got great reviews back in '92 too. So you didn't answer my question about whether you got to eat some decent food when you were out here in CA Ash, so what's the story?

  16. chucky says I did too - bah! ;) We went to Wahu Tacos, which we don't have at home. That was pretty good, better than I expected based on the way the place looked anyway. We ate at a place called Lucille's which was a bbq joint that was a laugh. Their applebutter was butter with apple flavor instead of real apple butter. And they served fried okra as an appetizer and not a vegetable. And, the bill came to $70, which damn near blew my mind. Wednesday we went to a fantastic Thai restaurant though. It was just so damn good. Funny thing is, I thought I didn't like Thai food so I didn't really want to go. Turns out, I was confusing Pad Thai with cold sesame noodles. Don't know how I managed to do that. So, all in all, it was better than the last time I went. :)

  17. Augusts1 says You did answer me on your post? I didn't get a notice that you had, hmmmm, oh well, sorry! Sounds like it was better. I LURVE Thai food, it's so damn good. I like most asian food & love sushi. Confusing Pad Thai w/ cold sesame noodles hmmmm, Pad Thai is so good how could you confuse the two, lol? And $70 for bbq? How many of you were there?
    Permalink posted 02/17/2007
  18. chucky says Quite alright :) Just didn't want you to have the mistaken impression that I didn't answer. I have no fricken idea how I managed to confuse the two. D'oh. I love me some california rolls but I stay away from the proper stuff because even when I like the taste my brain kicks in and reminds me it's raw. Heh. There were only 2 of us!!! Ridiculous I tell you.
    Permalink posted 02/17/2007
  19. Augusts1 says Only two? That musta been some high class BBQ joint, sheesh, that's crazy! I love all sushi & I don't care if it's raw. Fresh raw fish/seafood is incredible prepared as sushi w/wasabi & soy sauce w/some sake is da bomb!
    Permalink posted 02/17/2007
  20. chucky says Haha...the words high class and bbq should not go together. Especially since the best bbq ever made is always made in a big ass drum in someone's backyard. I hear you. I wish I could turn my brain off and just enjoy it. I'd skip the sake though and go for some plum wine. Yum.
    Permalink posted 02/17/2007
  21. Augusts1 says Plum wine is too sweet for me. Sake is great, especially since I like vodka!

  23. Augusts1 says There you are, lol. I was wondering when you were gonna show up! How are ya dear?
    Permalink posted 02/18/2007
  24. chucky says I am excellent. :) Thanks for asking.
    Permalink posted 02/18/2007
  25. Augusts1 says Glad to hear it. I'm doing great. Even if you didn't ask, lol. Btw, I did see that you answered my questions about your trip cause I looked on your post. For some reason I didn't get an email from Mog, or maybe I somehow skipped it or I don't know what the hell happened. Anyway, sorry for getting on you bout it, I was wrong(enjoy this moment cause it doesn't happen often. My friends in real life hate me cause I'm usually spot on bout most things, lol).

  26. chucky says What I love is that comment posted half a million times. haha. ;P I asked you in my mind - what you didnt' hear it? You aren't tuned into my brain yet? (That's my half assed way around being unintentionally rude by not asking.) So, you are one of those people that's always right huh? I'm married to one of those - completely insufferable. I, on the other hand, am usually wrong. I've come to accept that. Haha.

  27. Augusts1 says Oh fuck! Well, I didn't do that, I only hit the button once & it froze for awhile so I went & did other stuff. Sheesh. Well, yes I did hear it in your mind, that's why I told you anyway, lmfao! I just had to flip you some shit over it ya know, cause I bounce like that! heh And yes, I am one of those people, quite insufferably right. Sometimes I hate it but I just have the instinct & common sense, I can't help it. You poor thing being married to one of my kind, hehe. If it weren't for us you'd be totally adrift! What astrological sign is your hubby? I'm a libra. One of my best friends is always saying to me "Ok, ok you're right, once again as usual. I don't know why I don't just listen to you the first time around." He's got a really hard head but he's a kick.

  28. chucky says Hahaha.... ok, are you ready for this? He's a capricorn - the most bullheaded and anal of all signs. I am a gemini - the sign most incompatible with capricorns. "I just have the instinct & common sense..." grumble grumble....are you *sure* you aren't a capricorn?
    Permalink posted 02/18/2007
  29. Augusts1 says YES, I'm quite sure. I have my birth certificate to prove I was born on Sept. 30th., which is 7 days prior to when Libra begins. Capricorns are earth signs like Libra so we are GROUNDED in reality. Sometimes too grounded & get all muddied up, lol! Yea, as they say "opposites attract".
    Permalink posted 02/18/2007
  30. chucky says heh....I can't be anyone's opposite because I'm a gemini...which I've decided means I'm automatically contrarian. Earth sign huh? I don't even know what element I am. I should go look that up.
    Permalink posted 02/18/2007
  31. Augusts1 says Yes, do, please, cause I don't know.
    Permalink posted 02/18/2007
  32. chucky says I just looked it up...said I was an air sign. But, it also said libra was an air sign. Heh. Anyway...apparently the air sign governs creativity, intelligence, communication, and balance. So...sounds good to me. :) "here it is":http://www.novareinna.com/constellation/geminielement.html

  33. Augusts1 says Hmmmm, well for someone who is right all the time, I'm not batting too well here. Just figures when I say that then I'm wrong twice, heh! Serves me right! Air sign huh? Well I guess so since I'm the scales & the majority of the scales are in the air, but then there's that pedestal on the ground. Oh well. Sounds good to me too my fellow airee, hehe!
    Permalink posted 02/18/2007
  34. chucky says :) Yay. I'm saving this post ... haha.
    Permalink posted 02/18/2007
  35. Augusts1 says Oh, you are so wicked! I'm sure you'll rub it in my face at a later date- le sigh! Since we are both air signs, it's no wonder we have hit it off so well!
    Permalink posted 02/18/2007
  36. chucky says heh...have no doubt. :)
