I'd posted this vid over on Chucky's mog in response to the artwork in a "Stolen Babies" vid which reminded me of Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas". A 3D version was released last Oct. w/ various artists doing their versions of the songs in the film. Marilyn Manson is one, Fall Out Boy does another & my fav She Wants Revenge does a version of "Kidnap The Sandy Claws" that is killer(pun intended). Since I'm big into both Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Xmas" & SWR it's not a wonder I like their cover of the Danny Elfman(from Oingo Boingo fame & who does most of Tim's movie soundtracks now) penned song from the movie. Here's the vid:Wished I had known about the 3D version back in Oct., I'd have been so there! Here is the Marilyn "This Is Halloween" & Fall Out Boy "What's This?" remakes too:I like both of these & I don't particularly care for Fall Out Boy but they did well with this song. Actually I love the Marilyn Manson remake. Panic! At The Disco did the same song as M.M. but it doesn't have the balls that his remake does! I LOVE Tim Burton & have gradually been collecting his movies & have about 6 or so of them. I also have the last animated musical movie he did "Corpse Bride" which is pretty damn good too. I saw on IMDB.com that he is doing a movie version of the Broadway play "Sweeney Todd" which should be quite interesting. Can't wait to see that!

  1. Anna says I can't see vids right now, someone kill me now now now. I love She Wants Revenge, and Marilyn Manson, and Burton, and Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my favourite movies of all time, kill me. I'll be back. And that's not a threat. Maybe.

  2. Blue Meenie says not to sure 'bout this version. I'm a BIG Burton/Elfman fan and would so love to see a tribute album of songs from any/all of their movies. It would be great to hear some favorite artist covering the "oogie boogie" song......now who to get???

  3. Rawkkiddoh says The whole cd is pretty good from what I have heard. When it came out it was streaming at some site, and I listened to it quite a bit. Its on my list of cd's to get once I start getting my steady paycheck again.

  4. Anna says Aaaaaaaaand I'm back. Blue Meenie, Oogie Boogie is my fav song from this o.s.t. Whoever does it, better do it great, or he's dealing with me :) I hope it will be someone with a voice that oozes temperament :) I don't know who Fall Out Boy are, but I can't say I loved their version; I think it's lacking darkness (or psychotic joy :) ). Manson's is great. It's like he wrote it or it was written for him. Good god. She Wants Revenge managed to take the song & make it their own, rule over it and, at the same time, boost its best elements. I want this. No, scratch that, I *need* this.

  5. chucky says Damn. When you posted that I thought that SWR had just made a video with a Nightmare before Christmas theme. I didn't realize that a bunch of artists had redone songs from the movie. That's awesome!

  6. Augusts1 says Anna, why do you have such a problem watching the vids? Are you having probs w/your puter? Glad you came back dear. Yea Oogie Boogie Man is one of my fav songs too. I'm suprised you don't know Fall Out Boy. They are quite popular here & are kinda an emo oriented band. They just released or about to their 2nd cd. I'm not a fan at all but I do like their version on the Nightmare OST cause it doesn't sound like their usual stuff. Blue Meanie, the Burton/Elfman tribute sounds like a great idea! Wanna get it started, lol? Kev, love the new Avatar. Tony Little is far scarier than any of your faux scary looks. I'm just sayin', hehe. I think I'm gonna have to get this OST eventually too since I own the movie & saw it on the big screen too!

  9. Dale says That She Wants Revenge song ruled, but the rest? Not so much. Then again, I'm sure some marketing exec thought having Fall Out Boy on the album would boost sales.

  10. Augusts1 says Oh, that's a drag Anna. Dale, I love SWR's version of 'Sandy Claws', it's so goth! I think you're right about the execs getting Fall Out Boy & Panic! At The Disco to boost sales. Surprised I like the Fall Out Boy cover.
