Great list, Aug! My Christmas wish is for more Q-Tip in 2009!!!!
Hey thanks Nordico. I kinda doubt we'll get another Q-Tip album so quickly, but then again, ya never know, he could suprise us.
Actually if you want more Q-Tip go to my post & check out the link for a FREE mixtape he did awhile ago: http://mog.com/Augusts1/blog/238649 I've been enjoying it alot.
Sweet list. ...and that is one sweet picture of EB. Super cool.
Love the TVoTR as number two. So love that record!
Have a great Merry Christmas dude!!! Much love to you and yours.
I did notice a conspicious absence of a band that I hold near and dear, but I can't fault you for it....it's a solid list.
I love the Erykah avatar/pict...there are just so many things right about it.
nice list man, glad to see we share a lot of similarities when it comes to music. Hope the holidays are treating you well!
I'm so totally shocked that Ms. Badu is your #1! ;-) tee hee
Just teasing. Awesome list. I'm going to be doing my listening through everyone's Top lists between Xmoose and New Year. So much music, so little time.
Cheers Gusty. Happy Holidays.
Wow, *Mike* good to see you finally! That TVOTR album is so incredible innit? HH & love to you & yours as well.
*Annie* thanks. Oh you must be talking about +/- huh? hehe That EB pic has become my fave of hers.
*Kev* thanks, that's why we are trusteds as well as pseudo siblings tripbro! Hope your holiday is great.
*LMI* I know huh?! lol I thought about waiting on posting my list till after xmas to see what others have on theirs but decided to be a pioneer & be one of the first. Cheers & HH to you & yours dear.
shoo. i have a lot of listening to do.
Well that wouldn't be the case if you hadn't been doing all that damn studying Ardy @=P haha
Happy new year dude !
Chris
Good list, clearly there's a lot of stuff I need to check out.
Happy holidays!
*Chris* Thanks & Happy Xmas & Merry New Year doooooood!
*Jules* Thanks. Yea these year end 'best of' lists usually causes one to realize there's so much out there you haven't heard!
Top drawer stuff, August. But, by now, we all know your motto: Just Badu it!
You know it Mike! You think Nike might use that?
If not, they're missing out on a golden opportunity...
ya ill let you guys do the listing for me :)
i can never remember which albums come out when. but after reading these im like, 'oh ya! that did come out this year!' aha
*Mike* yes they are!
*Sam* it's actually quite easy to figure out what year albums came out. In most puter music players there is a search feature. Just put in '2008' & it will pull up all the '08 albums for you. But if you're just not into it, it's better to just let the rest of us do it!
okay, now i fake-hate you and Dale. 40 and 25?!? i feel cheated. ;p awesome list, my dearling. you just gave me the bit of push i needed with Matmos and Clinic. i forgot about Real Emotional Trash, and who the hey are Cantinero? thanks for so many leads!
ps- oh, August. you are hopelessly Baduistic. (;
How can you feel cheated w/40 & 25? I can see if our lists were less than 10, haha! Both Matmos & Clinic are worthy of your attention(I reviewed the clinic album too here:http://mog.com/Augusts1/blog/157729). Also, here's Cantinero's mog page: http://mog.com/music/Cantinero. I know Chris the singer/ songwriter of the group too(at least virtually by email & mog).
And yes I'm hopelessly & unabashedly Baduistic!!!!
I'm still trying to sort out my top 30 or so, but we'll surely have some overlap -- what a surprise! TVOTR is strong indeed, but I feel it's marred just a bit by a few missteps in some of the quieter tracks.
I doubt we'll have much overlap since my music tastes are surely more plebian than yours!
I'm counting 2 in the end (TVOTR and Kills), but Spiritualized, Portishead, Clinic, and Sigur Ros were seriously in contention for my top 30. I'd say that's not a bad convergence, given the differences in our tastes!
Sounds like a top 35 or 40 would've been in order then . . . .
my, what lovely taste you have! i think i'll post mine today.
Why thank yous dear! Where you been? Haven't seen you 'round these parts in a bit. Did you go home for xmas?
I went home post-xmas for a week to visit the ma dukes. But I am now back in action!
Cool, glad you had a safe trip & you're back!
Great list, August. I found the Goldfrapp, Crystal Castles, Clinic and Black & White Years albums through you!
Thanks Dar, glad I could EMCD you!
Hmmm...nice mix of diff genres on your list. By the way, what does EMCD mean?
Thanks Colin. Do you really not know what EMCD means? It means Evil Music Crack Dealer & Chucky was the one who tagged Dale w/that moniker. So now you know!
Ta, now that I'm in the know, I'm going to crobar EMCD into every comment I make on MOG, starting with this one.
Haha, you go boy!
