WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Speaking Of Spin.com

Posted about 1 year ago

In my last post I spoke of being prompted to check out Spin.com's 3 featured new bands. Well, in the latest issue of Spin magazine they named TV On The Radio's latest album 'Dear Science' as their album of the year. It certainly is a great album and worthy of that title.

Portishead was literally 'Third'. Santogold is at #6. Hot Chip at #8. Erykah came in at #12 on their year end list. Beck at #15. The Roots at #18 & Gnarls Barkley at #20.

You can check out their full list of the years 40 'best' albums here:

Much as I'd love to dump all over their list, I can't. It's pretty solid.

lil wayne might be my number 1. at least top 3 for me. it is funny to see his album mixed in alongside all the mostly indie choices. it's crept onto many a list.

I agree with dale, they seemed pretty spot on with everything.

Aug, i am happy to report i finally sat down and gave Dear Science a listen after your other TVOTR post. loving and still listening.

Viva La Vida, really? am i truly missing something by being unable to stand Coldplay at all?

*Britt* Lil' Wayne is the bane of my existence! Do not like his music & I feel it's a prime example of everything that's wrong w/top 40 music nowadays. Happy for you though @;P

*Kev* not in Lil' Wayne's case, they were way off!

*ilay* well it's about damn time! Yay, now you're on the TVOTR bandwagon. It's an awesome album, knew you'd love it. And as for Coldplay, I'm with you, although I've enjoyed a few songs here & there. They are way overrated & mainstream, and as we all know, mainstream is for ordinary people(not us, hehe).
