"It's SO not fair!" @=P
This song by The Breeders I automatically call 'At The Fair' since that's the chorus in it. In fact when I went to look for it on the album I forgot it was called 'Saints'! Great little rocker of a song. The Breeders were so much fun live when I saw them at Coachella earlier this year too. I WUV them!
I was inspired by Sam The Artist's post here about going to the fair this evening. And since I've not taken the time to figure out how to post songs in comments(yes, I'm aware of where the info is but it's way too complex, even though I know I could figure it out if I took the time) I posted here.
So, hope you enjoy this little dittie Sam, in your honor!

ahhh! where was this 8 hours ago?! haha thanks. never heard of them befo. tracks dope.
heres a pic of tonight from my phone... yes thats a bus all jacked up there.
it took me a little while to learn how to post songs in comments, but its easy when you finally get it.
That's a really cool pic. Can't believe you took that w/your phone, really beautiful.
The Breeders are Kim Deal, formerly of Pixies, & her twin sis Kelley, and two guys. You probably have heard their big hit off the same album as the song I posted, called 'Cannonball'. "*Here's*":http://mog.com/music/The_Breeders the link to their artist lounge for your listening pleasure.
If I can upload songs in comments, then everybody can do it!
I really like Patrick Wolf for fairs, sigh.

I had a good laugh at that Aug. Nothing like being in a big band and being known as the "two guys"....you might as well have yada, yada, yada them. It just struck me as funny.
The Breeders haven't been the same since Mike Hunt (hee, hee) left the band ;-)
to be honest, when i read "Saints", i went, hngh? (no, i don't actually know how to say that out loud.) and when i read "At the Fair", i went, ohh okay. so you're not exactly alone!
i just went a couple of weeks ago myself...
*Anna* yes if my fellow vampire niece can do it so can I! But I'd rather do my own post, it's more fun! Hmmm, Patrick Wolf & fairs? Now that's an idea!
*Annie* well, most of the time it's people saying & 'some girls' so turnabout it fair play, eh? Glad you got a kick outta that!
*Dave* I didn't even realize you are female, you hide it so well(TOTALLY joking here, please don't take offense). But yea, Mike, Josephine & Tanya all are missed too but the twins still bring it in their inimitable style.
*ii* at least I'm in excellent company w/you!
*Jeff* I'm not much of a fair person myself, too much cheesy family fun for my taste, lol(especially since I don't have my own wife & 2.5 kids & don't plan to go down that road again). Last time I went w/my best friend we had fun but afterwards decided it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Nice pic though, did you take that?
ahh yes the fair, headed out three times to my local state fair when it was in session. In my eyes there is no better place to people watch in the world
Well, that's true, haha, although I'd rather people watch in a downtown area if I have a choice . . . but fairs bring out even more oddballs.
thats what makes it so great August. Every year we go we think up three categories so we can crown a best of at the fair. This year we looked for these.........
1. Best tramp stamp (lower back tatoos are alway fun)
2. Best woman who shouldnt be wearing what she is wearing
3. Best beer gut
Oh, now that's creative! I'll have to remember that game.
i did take the pic. with a toy camera. well, the fair is if anything, a fantastic freakshow up here. that is the best part.
best tramp stamp, ha ha. good one kevin.
I bet it is Jeff, I bet it is, haha
ohhh they did cannonball? k im down. i like that song, if im not mistaken spike jonze directed the vid. AND i remember they used it in this 'the state' sketch. (anything to post this little gem)
haha omfg, that is a hysterical sketch, thanks for posting it! Love the cheesy looks & talking in it like a '50s commercial or something.
I had a feeling you'd know that song since it was such a huge hit in the early '90s(it made it to #2 on the modern rock charts & 'Saints' made it to #12).
Love "Cannonball" (was dancing like a maniac to it on Friday night at Club Mondo). Such a great song.
August 1 - heh, heh. Yeah - a very amusing usage of one that old gag. Just goes to show the girls in the band are irreverant and bascially wiseasses.
I met Kim Deal and Tanya Donnelly one night in a typcially dive-y NYC rock club, downtown NYC back in the 9 oh's. I think they were both high. They were cool though. They talked a bit.
It IS a great song & she's a very underrated writer. One of the reasons I was initially drawn to her was that & her irreverant wiseassness(glad you enjoyed the joke & have a sense of humor btw). That's cool you got to meet Kim & Tanya & chat a bit. I think I'd be too awestruck & make a fool out of myself if I ran into her somewhere.
Well it was just one of those club nights (must have been a Friday or Saturday) were 4 bands play. The reason they were there was because one of the bands playing was also engineering some tracks they were working on. Tanya was giggly, but she talked. Kim was friendly too, but with that laid back super cool way of hers.
No sign of "Mike Hunt" though ;-)
As The Dandy Warhols would say:
and 90 Miles From Vegas would say:
And I'm sure there was some of Mike Hunt around, just not of the male name variety, lol.
That was a great vid Sam...nice addition to the post. Kudos.
wish this little number was on my shuffle whilst there, just happy there was no puking this time haha
The Breeders sound a little like Rush in my opinion, been listening to them, sweet stuff ;)
Hey QP, this would be a perfect song to hear at the fair w/or w/o puking! Interesting you hear Rush, I think Kim Deal is a Rush fan herself, at least I've seen her wearing a Rush T-shirt before. I'm not much for them myself, just a little too screamy for me.
