Guess I'm Seeing Mogwai After All . . . .

I was on Ticketmaster checking out the cost of tix for various bands in San Francisco. I had heard Mogwai puts on an amazing show and saw they're going to be here in the bay area 9/08/08. Tickets were pretty reasonable at $22.50.
So I'm going through the process online to find out the total end cost with all those damn fees cause I like to know what the bottom line will be. I was wavering on the purchase since I don't even have a Mogwai album & the total was over $35.00. Totally ridiculous isn't it?
I had then decided not to buy a ticket and when I went to hit the "Cancel" button I accidentally hit the "Order" button. Fuck it all! This is the first time I've ever done that. Have you ever had this scenario happen to you?
So I guess I'm going to see Mogwai in a few months, goddamnit!

I like your post!
(In reading this comment, you have automatically been accessed a "convenience" fee.
This fee will appear on your monthly statement as "You fuckin' moron. I gotcha by the balls you clueless piece of shit !!")
I kid of course. I am similarly bedeviled by this sort of Wild West bargaining.
Thanks Petey, those damn convenience fees are everywhere these days haha!
Ouch! I hate ticket master. The fees are really quite obscene.
I will be seeing the same tour here in Minneapolis. It should be a great show. Let me know if you need any Mogwai to brush up on them a bit.
The fees ARE obscene, that's a perfect word for it! Actually I've been plundering the Mogwai vaults over on the dark side and one of them was an ep you posted, so thanks for that. That's cool you're seeing them too! We can compare notes.
the last time I saw them they were pretty dang rocking. i hope they do not dissapoint.
Jealous (even though it was a mistake!). I've never seen them live, but they're one of my favorite bands. Hope it's good!
aw man, make it a good time then! i bet it'll be worth it in the end, although....grr, damn ticketmaster!
I got to see them open up Curiosa for The Cure four years ago. They were the loudest band I've ever heard, and we were way back in the seating. The way they make the guitar lines just snake around each other ... wow! If you get a chance, check out their song "My Father My King", a redo of an old Jewish hymn, that gets progressively louder as they go(for about 20 minutes), with a HUGE crescendo at the end. Live they ended it with three guitars feeding back, and then knelt down and, in tandem, shut off their pedals and let the silence ring. WHOA!
*Mike* from what I saw on Youtube they do look pretty rockin' live.
*Jared* I know they are a fave among musicheads like you, so I know it'll be a great show. Hope you get to see them soon!
*Britt* I will make it a good time & it will be great I'm sure. They're reputation preceeds them. And damn ticketmaster!
*Dale* I'll check out that song. I bet they are loud live. I better make sure to take earplugs w/me . . . they sound awesome live, can't wait.
HAHA i laugh at your somewhat misfortune. i mean on one hand, you didnt really want to go, but now you kinda have to... or you could just sell them.
damn i meant to hit 'preview' not 'publish' :P
Not with tickets august, but it has happened on Ebay more than I like to talk about. You put in a bid, and then you change your mind. When you try and back out, suddenly you are the highest bidder and all you can do is pray someone else wants the item more than you.
Yep this happened to me once on ticketmaster but I ended up going to see The Roots. I had never seen them. They were fantastic but those FEES! =( Made me sick to see fees add up but I said well I paid for it dangit!!
I just bought tickets last night to see Amel Larrieux at the blue note in the Village so I am pretty excited to see her. Those fees I do not mind paying! She is worth every PENNY! Blue Note New York Performance Schedule (AMEL AMEL AMEL!!)
*Sam* that's the thing, I DID wanna go but was just being a cheap bastard! I guess my subconscious got the better of me, haha. I could sell them, true dat . . . but I might as well go. It's just money right?!
*Kev* I've also done that on Ebay too, so I've made the rounds lol
*Jennifer* exactly! I know Mogwai will be worth every penny since anyone I know who likes their music & seen them live raves about them. So I know I'm in for an incredible concert experience.
It's highly probable I'll be there too. We gotta kick it.
Highly probable? What does that mean exactly? lol It'd be great to meet you & kick it, let's do it! Especially since Mog's name is part of Mogwai's name, haha MOGWAI MOG MEET!
It happened when I was buying Clutch tee shirts online for the hub as a present. I guess the little scrolly thing on the mouse moved and I changed the size of the tee without knowing, one shirt was large and the other came in medium, which ended up fitting me fine for comfy nights in, so it was okay. Ticketmaster is horrible, horrible company! Mogwai should be great...Ilay will be so happy for you!
Haha, I think you deliberately did that so you'd have a cool t-shirt to sleep in @;) I didn't realize ilay was into Mogwai, but I should've known . . . . I'll have to let her know. Thanks
Op...I'm busted! : P
haha, you're a smooooooth operator Helen!
Uh oh! There was no way to cancel or go back? That' stupid. Or profitable for them.
I'm sure you'll have a good time tho, uncle A!
Anna, they do have a cancel button or you can just close the window. I thought I was pushing the cancel button but I got distracted before & I wasn't paying close enough attention. Getting old's a real beehotch . . . .
Then it's concert-fate, uncle A!
Yup, I guess so!
