SPIN organized an album of Prince covers to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Prince's breakout film 'Purple Rain'. It's really quite good whether you are a Prince fan or a fan of any of the bands. Check out the roster below.

Since I've been on a Fol Chen kick lately I've uploaded their contribution to the compilation in the red button above. Also The Twilight Singers cover has Apollonia(who starred in the film opposite Prince) singing backup on it. Most of these covers are pretty well done. And there is a wide variety of styles/artists to keep it interesting. Definitely worth your time.

love prince! fav song from him, love the movie he did that was my 1st discovery of prince. I was still a kid when I saw it for the 1st time. Your gonna laugh but I have pic's of prince, well .. the back of his head, I saw him when I was in the LA area lol wish I could have met him, he seemed really nice! :)
Hey you, good to see you. Been wondering how you are. Pics of the back of Prince's head, guess that's better than no pics at all! I got to see him perform at Coachella in '08 which was phenomenal, he's an amazing performer.
