Feist Gets Re-invented

Posted over 3 years ago

Diplo by M.I.A

I just heard this remix of Feist's 'Feel It All' on I Hope Your Ears Bleed's blog by way of another post they made through the MMN. This isn't a cover but it almost could be since it's a total re-invention on the song. Give the red button a push & hear it for yourself.

plus

= LUV!

I love it when a DJ recreates a song making a whole new sounding entity out of the original. I don't know much about Diplo though. I've heard a few of his remixes here & there of artists I like but HOLY HELL I listened to this song eight times in a row! That's a rarity that I want to listen to a song a couple times in a row let alone fucking eight times.

Diplo is my new hero! I don't know much about him though. But you can read more about him here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diplo_(DJ) (the link isn't working correctly but there's another link on the wiki landing page) and here's his myspace page.

Like Annie says. It started out slow but got better as it went along and found its groove.

*Annie* it took me a bit to get into it too but boy when it hit me it hit me good! Slick indeed.

Not getting e-mail anymore from mog...I just keep touch when I feel like it.  I had logged in and whammo, there it was.

I feel QUITE privileged then that I'm on your top list of trusteds to check! Too many email notifs eh? I can understand that. I just don't add people much to keep mine at a minimum(but even that can be overwhelming). Happy coincidences are awesome!

August...you are on the top of my list.

Chris (I am) always gets a look and his trusted sidekick Galen (psuedomacabre) gets my attention too.

Lest I forget Sam (the artist) he's always good for a gander.

But for the most part, I stick to the posts all and filter out those MMN's.

*Sam* it should've been but I'm sure it was made in the last few years & that remix album came out in '06. He did do a great job w/it.

    *Anna* you know it Pumah!

*Annie* Yay! I love being on the top of your list. Looks like I'm in good company too. I have found that the MMN's have some valuable info. that doesn't always get through to my trusteds like this remix.

And the robots danced all night. When the dawn came, they paired off and made love in a squeaking, clanking piles of metal. (Sorry. The remix sent me on a tangent...)

I love when a remix takes a whole new direction and it works! Thanks, Augusts, this is great - plus it wil give me kudos with my son and his friends!!

*Mike* oh yea, I'm sure Annabot would love your robotic comment. I love it when a song sends you off on a tangent of the mind causing you to think of imaginary scenarios. Even better when they're of a sexy nature, hehe

*Scot* agreed. I think that's why I love this remix so much. Nine Inch Nails tends to do that alot w/their remixes. I bought quite a few of NIN's remix eps back around the time of 'The Downward Spiral' since I was really into them back then. Hey, anything that will give you kudos & cool points w/the *real* kids is a good thing(as opposed to us older kids @;P). Hope this helps!
