Erykah Has Third Child!

This is a bit late since I've been rather occupied of late with the passing of a close friend. Erykah Badu had her third child, daughter Mars Merkaba on February 1st, '09 at home with a midwife and her boyfriend, the father, Jay Electronica.
The birth was very 21st century since the proud parents updated everyone on Twitter on both of their pages. See Erykah's Twitters below(Jay's were much more detailed during the birth):

They initially stated that the baby would be named Twitty Milk, lol. But soon rescinded that name & informed everyone the real name of Mars Merkaba. I first thought it was a rather strange name but considering Erykah's names for her first two children, her son Seven & daughter Puma, I realized it wasn't that out of place.
In honor of the new arrival, I posted a snippet of a new song that a youtube friend of mine turned me onto that supposedly will be on 'New Amerykah Part Two: The Return Of The Ankh' recorded live in concert last summer. It's definitely a jumpin' song for sure & can't wait to hear the album version as well as the release of the entire album. We've had to wait WAY too long! But now that the baby is born, hopefully Erykah will be able to get back to working on it since it was supposed to be out last summer! But as per Erykah Badu, it will come in Badu time(which means slowly, haha).

I don't think I even really knew Mz. Badu was preggers. The names are also very 21st Century. When I was high school, I considered naming my future first daughter Tequila Marie. Thank God that did not happen, the (non-existent) poor girl would have been perenially associated with Tila Tequila. ;D

*ii* I didn't write anything about her being prego but there was another "mogger":http://mog.com/mollifire/blog/172793 who did. There were a few other moggers(through the MMN) that blogged about the new baby, that I just discovered while searching through Erykah's lounge but no regular moggers did.
Ha! That's funny you wanted to name your future daughter that name. I didn't know who Tila Tequila was but when I did a google search, realized I did know her. She did a reality show I saw once or twice called 'Shot At Love w/Tila Tequila' that was pretty wild. I'd not heard of her prior to seeing that show.

The story behind Da Pumah is that I sometimes slowly sneak up on people, make my hands look like paws, and whisper in their ears "....da pumah!". I haven't been sued yet, but any day now.

I remember rejecting a friend request from Tila Tequila on Myspace years back. Until I saw the show, I thought she was one of those cyber sexworkers.
Since there was once a release date for Return of the Ankh set in August, I'd assume the album was finished long ago, but her label wanted to stagger the release so she could promote it properly after having her baby. Just my theory.
Funny about the Tila myspace thought! I'd have thought the same thing Fastnbulbous. I also agree w/your assessment of the reasoning behind the delay of 'Ankh'. Ankhs for the comment, hehe.

Twitty Milk actually since they Twittered about the birth, but yea can you imagine that as a name? lol So glad Erykah & I are synonymous in your mind. I do have a thang for Ms. Badu, hehe.
