Album of the year (2007)

Posted about 4 years ago
Hey all, I just I'd share with you my thoughts on who I think took the cake for album of the year in 2007. Although there were a lot of releases this year by almost all of my favorite artists I think there was one that totally blew any of them out of the water and caught me off guard as well. Cassadaga by Bright Eyes is probably not just the best record I've heard this year but now holds a place in my top ten records of all time. Now I know this might might not mean much to you but weather or not your a fan you have to admit there's a timeless element on this record that I think you don't get from very many records these days and it's in the music as well as Conor's lyrics. There's an authentic feeling that I get from the album that I haven't gotten in a while. I just feel like a lot of care and time and brutal honesty was put into it and that's how every album should be made. Suprisingly enough though for some reason it's been catching a fair amount of flack from its fanbase. A lot of people think its just "not the same" or even falls short of previous work that bright eyes has written in the past and some people don't like change in their artists but for me I think it's the best thing an artist can do, especially when they can do it well like Conor does. Anyway just thought I'd put my two cents in.

  1. brittanybf says it's good to hear your 2 cents. cassadega didn't seem to be on many critics' lists this year. maybe it was not as 'authentic' as they would have liked to have heard from him, though he def has a way with coming across as honest enough for me.
