MOG MOG

Artist:

" Blood Red Shoes are a two-person rock band from Brighton, England.

Consisting of Steven Ansell (vocals and drums) and Laura-Mary Carter (vocals and guitar), they formed in 2005 after their previous bands (Cat On Form and Lady Muck respectively) had broken up and they decided to "have a jam". Their name comes from the story that Ginger Rogers had to re-do a tap dance scene so many times that the camera man asked whether she'd changed out of her white shoes into some red ones. She hadn't it turned out she'd danced so hard they were covered in blood".

It's Getting Boring By The Sea (gets stuck in the head oh so easily after 2 listens)

very good find. Cute girls playing guitar. Is there anything better? All she needs now is a box of free beer tickets to give out and it would fulfill one of my fantasies.

Get off my MOG, you White Knight!

(thank you, glad I could provide material for your fantasy)

I enjoyed that, they're like a cross-gendered White Stripes, with UK influences instead of Detroit influences.

And you need not excuse yourself for not being around much, but haven't we talked about you beating yourself up before? AHEM

That's it. I'm suing for defamation of character!

But but but I've got beating myself up down to an art. Oh fine, I will try to leave that skill at customs :)

And just in case that yet another humourless person reads this, I was TEASING Puffy. Just sayin'. You never know.

I was the same. Unsure at first but now that song is stuck in my head! Sure, unless I can find it somewhere on line & spare you the trouble?

Blair, I don't remember VV; good? Will I be able to deal with their vocals (assuming they are female)? My memory really sucks.

I don't know...you and your vocals! I have stopped trying to guess which ones you like and which ones you don't....you are a mystery to me in that way AZ

London and Dublin will never be the same.

As SatisfiedMind614 said, the first had a slightly better melody. The second was brilliant film-making. Great group. Thank you!

They are on my list of cds to purchase when I hit the shores of Scotland. Keep 'em coming.

Is it wrong that I find his daintiness and his bloody nose compelling? Have fun on your trip and don't forget to take pictures.

I am a sucker for a chick with an axe.

Great hooks. Where did you find them?

Hot stuff. I like the vids as much as the music. That first track may just become my single of the week.

Prefer the second one. Strange that her breasts change size and shape in the video.

It's like you're already in the U.K. and deep into the scene, Anna. One more kewl find. Will round up some more cuts as soon as I can. Meanwhile, don't fret about flitting in and out of the MOG-iverse. Get your trip together, and have some big fun.

curses, you evil Brit music crack dealer! Yet another group that I can't find but must have. When you return from London and Dublin, you can make it up to me by recommending a music shop, please, for my trip to London in July. I may have to bring another suitcase just to bring home CDs.

it's already been mentioned, but a cute chick with a guitar? Yes please...

and is it just me or does the drummer vaguely resemble Michael Cera of Arrested Development "fame?"

I've already posted twice in this thread, but it won't show up. :(

Anyway, love the first song, listened to it quite some times already, so much even that I haven't gotten around to the second one yet. ;)

I almost would've gone to England for the festival Anna, would've been the planning to leave today and then the festival would be my last day before flying back. I also would've gone to the Art Brut concert without knowing you were going to be there. ;) (also would've visited a play with Maggie Smith and one for my bachelor thesis). Alas, personal problems prevented it. Sure you'll have a great time out there! ;)

This band is sex! I don't usually dig ultraminimalistic bands that feature only guitar and drums [take your pick] but I really like this one's sound =) Plus, it features a woman on guitar! Bonus! Thank you for posting this!
