MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

Batman says it, the Crypt Keeper says it, James Wan says it, but some people just don't seem to listen. Ventriloquists' dummies are vessels of pure EVIL. It is UNNATURAL of a dummy to speak in a human voice. It is DISTURBING of a dummy that pretends to be human to look like its jaw has been cut off with a chainsaw and scotch-taped back to place. And it is downright SCARY for a dummy to move its glass eyes around like it's watching you.

Burn them, bury them, keep them away from your children.

Geez Anna, didn't you ever read the Goosebump books all about the dummy that came to life and scared little kids?? Don't think about the awful ones, think about....um.....Rene Zellweger in Chicago?....bah, bad example...I agree, they are creepy

My grandfather had a ventriloquist doll in his closet when I was a kid. My sisters and I would never go in that closet. EVER.

Humans pretending to be dummies also freak me out occasionally... Even when they are not awful, they are still unnatural and spooky... Needless to say, Pinocchio was not my favourite fairy tale as a kid...

Mike, you and your sisters were wise...

sageturk, ahhahahah. I experienced true horror (you know, the kind that comes with that steely taste) yesterday...if I'm going down, I'm taking everybody with me! /evil laugh

Owww, Lizzieness, I'm the opposite; Chucky always gave me the chuckles (sic). One girl's spook is another girl's laugh, eh?

He was hysterical, but he actually welded the knife a little to easily for my mind.

dachmo: my thoughts exactly - certainly my most favorite Chucky of all...

On the original Twilight Zone TV show there was an episode in which a ventriloquist dummy slowly takes over the body and life of the ventriloquist. I saw it when I was maybe 5 or 6. Scared the crap out of me. To this day the only irrational fear I have is of those damn dummies.

Dearest blue.... shudders I have a Tale's From The Crypt comic book that tells the story of a ventriloquist whose dummy was actually his evil brother that was attached to him; it's just so scary. BTW I always thought that the Crypt Keeper was adorable:

Dale, ahahhahahha. At least that dummy looks like what it really is and is honest about it. SILENCE! I KILL YOU! hahahhahahah Oh yes, I most definitely will...

May I suggest a tightly rolled marijuana cigarette in the mouth of the wooden beast? Heck, it does'nt have to be a real joint, that would be a waste. I bet they won't seem so scarry anymore. May you conquer those deamons! I get your point though.

I have to admit, as a young pup, I wanted to learn this evil art. I even got a dummy and a "how to" record one Christmas ... and a while back, I found a clip from that record online!

It's over on my MOG (guess we can't put MP3s in comments, huh).

Cody! That clip scared me SO much...and yet I now want to see that movie!!!

(Lizzie, who doesn't? ;) )

meko, I'll take a evil human over an evil dummy any day...I don't know how to hurt a dummy! They tend to resurrect a lot. LOL :D

Scotty, nooooo! That will resemble human behaviour and that's what freaks me out the most! runs away

comes back hontzd......you demon you......... I'm going to regret this, but....start a new post at your page, upload the mp3, then copy paste its code to my comment section and may the force be with us....

I got a Jill hug, yay! :* In the movie I saw yesterday, there was a ventriloquist's dummy that was also a clown. I think I actually moved back away from the screen. I'm not posting a pic. I can't. Too much terror.

The weirdest doll that came to life (for me as a kid) was the voodoo doll in the final movie in Trilogy of Terror, starring Karen Black.

Here's the doll in action:

...and here is the frightening ending, after she burns the doll in the oven, and the spirit of the doll enters her...

vannatta: great... instead of having fabulously funny dreams about a skeletal terrorist who yells "Silence, I Kill You !", I will instead be tossing & turning all night with visions I had long since blocked out with the help of a therapist.... THANKS ;P

vannatta, what the heck was that! I am not watching the second clip 'cause I haven't seen the movie. But the sound that thing is making is surreal...

hontzd, why oh WHY did I press play again! Brrrrrrrrrrrr.

You're welcome, Lizzie! That's great. Not sure. I'd love to though! I'm trying to see if I can come to USA early in the spring (probably San Fransisco). But everything depends on everything. Sigh.

summer eyes, mannequins with their soulless eyes and human forms...there was one store here that had black ones (black like my MOG skin)..they looked like reapers!

Ray, if you're smoking something and not sharing, I'm going to e-ground you! [Thanks for the videos!]

Anna, love the song you posted. Heard of +/- but not heard a song by them. So you may be coming to San Francisco in the new year? That would be so awesome to meet you in person & run the city with you if I get a chance between all the other people you'll want to see & things you'll want to do. I'm sure you'll be making a trip to Berkeley as well to the Mog HQ to meet the Mog staff.

I've always been fascinated by dummys, they aren't scary to me. How can you be afraid of an inanimate object that only is 'alive' when someone's arm is up it's ass, lol? To me that makes them funny!

Dale, I loved that clip w/Achmed & Jeff Dunham, too funny! I even went to youtube to find the rest of that sketch. I'd not heard of him before, so thanks. SILENCE! I KILL YOU!

Vannatta, just the _sight_ of Karen Black is creepy enough, lol!

So, for this month you may call me "Jackie Skellington, Queen of Halloweentown"... or lizzie - either works for me ;P

summer eyes....I dread to ask what kind of incident... I used to take the heads off my barbies and place them in random doll bodies. Go fig ;)

Thanks, uncle A. Yes, somewhere around that area. It basically depends on this: I need a tourist visa (though Greece is in the EU) if I want to come to USA even for a day. That visa takes about 6 months to get issued. Our government has been trying to eliminate that, and is talking to your government about it. Talks are going good, from what I hear. So, if that happens, yes, I'm coming. Woohooo! Of course we will meet up! Don't be silly :) And yup, I'm thinking MOG HQ. I'm also thinking MOG meet up. W00t!

Mark, I saw a ventriloquist dummy that was a clown. I don't want to elaborate on the horror. I really don't!

I always had a crush on Jack....that's not wrong, is it? :)
