My grandfather had a ventriloquist doll in his closet when I was a kid. My sisters and I would never go in that closet. EVER.

Humans pretending to be dummies also freak me out occasionally... Even when they are not awful, they are still unnatural and spooky... Needless to say, Pinocchio was not my favourite fairy tale as a kid...

On the original Twilight Zone TV show there was an episode in which a ventriloquist dummy slowly takes over the body and life of the ventriloquist. I saw it when I was maybe 5 or 6. Scared the crap out of me. To this day the only irrational fear I have is of those damn dummies.

May I suggest a tightly rolled marijuana cigarette in the mouth of the wooden beast? Heck, it does'nt have to be a real joint, that would be a waste. I bet they won't seem so scarry anymore. May you conquer those deamons! I get your point though.

I have to admit, as a young pup, I wanted to learn this evil art. I even got a dummy and a "how to" record one Christmas ... and a while back, I found a clip from that record online!

The weirdest doll that came to life (for me as a kid) was the voodoo doll in the final movie in Trilogy of Terror, starring Karen Black.

Thanks, uncle A. Yes, somewhere around that area. It basically depends on this: I need a tourist visa (though Greece is in the EU) if I want to come to USA even for a day. That visa takes about 6 months to get issued. Our government has been trying to eliminate that, and is talking to your government about it. Talks are going good, from what I hear. So, if that happens, yes, I'm coming. Woohooo! Of course we will meet up! Don't be silly :) And yup, I'm thinking MOG HQ. I'm also thinking MOG meet up. W00t!
