Lily Allen, Britney Spears, and Womanizers

Posted over 3 years ago

This has been on blogs since yesterday, so it's not that new in e-terms, but I wanted to post it!

Lily Allen covers Britney Spears' Womanizer. Now, I'm not an Allen fan, but this is very pleasant. It actually makes the song sound like an actual song and not like braindead repetitive rubbish that the original is. Sounds like a very enjoyable earworm that you want to sing out loud, and one with a tongue in cheek aura at that.

Original can be found here: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=gZSLIq6YiRY

Enjoy! {the cover, that is}

Can I just say I am in total lust for Lilly Allen, though Britney really gives me the creeps.  Unless of course she's wearing that see through bodysuit, then I can deal.

Jeff ahhahahahha you're a birthday boy, so I'll let that one slide ;P

Adam (now isn't this more cozy now!), I'm sure many men agree with you. I know Kevin (Rawkkiddoh) will.

See through bodysuit is barf-worthy :)

inrumford, I think she's very unattractive, but assuming that she qualifies as eye candy, maybe she should be a model and stop torturing our innocent ears!

Amazing what a whole lot of make up and designer outfit can do for your career, I personally find Ms. Spears to be repulsive. We already have one Madonna, and no one can top her.

Well that's all we need her for isn't it?  I mean after all, who wants to hear her talk?

I am not lying. Richard Thompson does a cover of "Baby Hit Me One More Time" that is superb....

Nice.  Fountains of Wayne does one also.  As does Travis, if I am remembering correctly.

I would take this song and the woman singing it any time.

I just listened to this cover on another site and I have to agree, it's a vast improvement from the original (that I can't stand).

The red button had reached about twenty past when my ears started bleeding - my God, that song is bloody terrible, and if Lily Allen can sing a note, its one that is thus far unknown to musical theory.

I hear a titanic struggle between a witty songstress who can't sing and a really rubbish song. Makes 3 minutes feel like sitting through Rocky 4, Die Hard 4, Lethal Weapon 4, Godfather 3.....

G, true dat. Not to mention lots of money to waste on the promotion department...

Adam, I don't want to hear her sing either! Someone please arrange that :)

Ivy, there's also a death metal cover of that one...

Kevin, ahhahaha you are Lily's knight in a silver armor (and commando underneath that)!

    Daniel, I couldn't agree more!

Baudolino, ooops! I didn't mean to sonically violate you :)

Mimi hahahah I just couldn't resist the quality :)

Poe, I bet that you have so many skeletons in your closet that there's barely any room left for clothes :)

Jonh, also Alien VS Predator? "Whoever wins... we lose" and all that? ;)

If we're noting crimes against cinema, we better include Bulletproof Monk. Makes Britney seem a masterpiece in comparison.

I'm w/Baudolino, I had to turn the red button OFF! Despise both Lily & Britney, what an awful combo. Now the metal version of 'Hit Me Baby One More Time' to the actual video is sheer gold!

Jonh, gosh, Bulletproof Monk?! You've entered the horror genre now.... ;)

Uncle A hahahahhah I think that this Sunday went from Sunday under the Covers to Violation Sunday! Maybe I should post covers people will hate from now on...mwuahahhaha! I laugh EVERY time I watch the death metal version...
