Happy Halloween!

Posted over 3 years ago

It's here, it's finally here, and I'm as blissful as a vampire in a blood bank! SO...what are you up to tonight? Fancy dress and crazy makeup? Trick or treating? Bars and parties? Horror movies? Looking yourself in the mirror? Cracking some skulls and starting some fires? Spooky music? Do tell!

I'm going to put on my bunny ears (and possibly a pair of cat ears, and a magic ghost wand and a pair of purple wings) and go see my latest favourite band, Wild Beasts, live in a Halloween fancy dress special gig. OH JOY AND TERROR! W0000000t!

Whatever you choose to do, may you have a frightening, macabre, insane Halloween!

Would you prefer to have a 27 year old daughter suffering from monsterality crisis? I think not ;o)

You raised him well, Cody! Thank you, and likewise to you and the vampiric yours :)

I'm likely going to throw on some scary movies and chow down on the candy I'll bought "for the kids" even though we don't get trick or treaters. Happy Halloween Anna!

I've just had some trick or treaters knock on my front door.

It's really annoying - I've only just buried the ones from last year.

soundwaves, you lost me at '"com a tua criatividade" but I'm a wishful thinker so I'll assume that it's something positive and thank you for your {no} words hehe :) You, too, enjoy!

Neill, you know what, I really believe that.

Trick or Treaters make great compost. For best results, use the lasagna gardening technique: one layer of expired vegetables, one layer dead leaves, one layer trick or treaters, repeat.

    Or so I've heard....

meg white, solo, because jack went camping for his birthday. hanging out with m.i.a. (or katy perry, she hasn't decided) and feeding the little monsters that come to her door. have to fatten them up before using them for compost!

sadly, no show/party to go to tonight, unless i want to brave the tweenage crowd at the hardcore show.

yay, i also put my wings on! they're blood-stained white because it's the only day of the year i wear white (or so my peers say, but technically false). i love the tune. happy halloween, darksis.

soundwaves, ah, I got you now. No worries, you wrote it just fine. Thanks so much for the kind words!

Pamela, nice one! Was it M.I.A. after all? If it was Perry, hope she wasn't kissing you :P

Compost! You have one sick imagination young lady! Love it ;)

Teeanage crowds at a hardcore show....that's a lethal combination if I ever heard one...

Daniel, I'm not going to ask. I don't want to know. I'm just glad you live far away from me and I'm relatively safe!

poe, blood-stained white is the only acceptable type of white, as far as I'm concerned. May our every day (and night) be as spooky as Halloween, darkling :*

Hey great tune!  How was the show?

I had a pre party and then went to a city-sponsored party with 2000 people. It was a WICKED time!  Course, it didn't hurt that I had some of my best peeps around.

    Cool pic!

I love Halloween - shame it's over!  There was a Halloween do at my work which was loads of fun as there were games - mummy wrapping, dunking for apples etc.

I would love to go to a Halloween gig!  Well I went to my local venue where a local band was playing but it didn't seem especially Halloween-y, but I did see some cool outfits!

Hmmm. How did I miss this post? Faulty alerts? Faulty cognition due to too much Halloweening and Day of the Deading? In either case, I await word of the Wild Beasts. Could there have been a better act to see on October 31, 2008? (Cramps? Bauhaus? Marilyn Manson? Rob Zombie? Please. Been there - done/seen/heard that. Anyway, I said "2008.")

Scotty, the show was truly wonderful. I got the aftershow glow and everything :)

Sounds like you had a very fun and spooky one, nice!

milkshake, you never told me what you dressed up as!

Mummy wrapping sounds like a great game, although I have no idea what it is.

Cool outfits is half the fun! :)

soundwaves, I'm not a mog queen, I'm queen of the dead ;p

I'm afraid that Moonspell are too heavy for my bunny ears. I know very little about this genre, so I really can't have a solid opinion, I'm afraid.

Mikey, I realized that many people missed this post due to some off-ness (it's a word!) in the notifications. My, it's one of my musical dreams to see Cramps on Halloween, it would be blissful. Luckily, Wild Beasts made up for any longings of the sort. Talented lot, I'm telling ya :)

Not very inspiring but I was dressed as a witch.  Though I was quite chuffed with my purple and black dress I got from Tescos.  I was very impressed with some outfits I saw out on the town - quite a few Jokers going about.

Nice! I love witch-dresses, especially when they are purple and black. I saw only one Jocker, but many Clockwork Orange characters around hehe
