  2. Known Human says Also, why am I such sucker for men who smoke like that?
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  3. Known Human says Ahem..."Who the %$@! Are Arctic Monkeys?"
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  4. Joxley says As I've said before, any band that supports the Wednesday are fine by me.
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  5. kewagi says Hey, I smoke like that! ;) And, "A certain romance" was one of the best songs of the year for me. Also, the semi-underground risen-from-myspace feeling that the Monkeys have is appealing, at least to people who would use a site like MOG. Also, they rock.

  6. Anna says Bradley, I'd Still Take You Home. gympumpkin, hell yeah! kewagi, hell yeah they rock!

  8. Anna says Oh, and thank you Dale! Again. :)
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  9. Puffmagic says I dig 'em. Dancy music and thick Cockney accents. And in one song he actually says "summat" instead of "something". Now _that's_ a dialect!!
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  10. Dale says Alex Turner is one of the most genius lyricists in music today.
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  11. thill says anna i am a sucker for men like that too. (see also, gregg dulli) if they can throw in a tendency toward depression, a possible anxiety disorder and alcoholism they are golden in my book. see jeff tweedy, paul westerberg, ryan adams.

  12. QueenofHell says I like them too. I was pleased they won the Mercury Music Award. I think I've said this before - these lyrics so accurately describe an encounter with a radgee girlfriend / wife - and encapsulates it so well. Well now then Mardy Bum I've seen your frown And it's like looking down the barrel of a gun And it goes off And out come all these words Oh there's a very pleasant side to you A side I much prefer It's one that laughs and jokes around Remember cuddles in the kitchen Yeah, to get things off the ground And it was up, up and away Oh, but it's right hard to remember That on a day like today when you're all argumentative And you've got the face on Man, I had the face on last night.

  13. Joxley says PUFFMAGIC THOSE ARE NOT COCKNEY ACCENTS THEY ARE YORKSHIRE ACCENTS!!!!!!

  15. Anna says Justin, Uh-Oh. teresa, you're my kind of woman. Hell, feeling better today?
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  16. Dale says Maybe, but it'd be like confusing a Boston accent with a Southern accent.
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  17. JordanChaos says They are very awesome and I see you have really great taste in music :)
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  18. Joxley says "Yorshiremen (and women) are immensely proud of both their county (commonly referred to as "God's Own County") and their identity. It is sometime suggested that Yorkshire men identify more strongly with their county than they do with their country." Don't confuse a northern accent with those southern ponces.

  19. QueenofHell says They take 'shank's pony'.
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  20. Anna says Thank you, JordanChaos :) Guys, I can't tell British or American accents from one another either, and you can't tell Greek ones, I think that's normal :)
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  21. QueenofHell says Noun 1. shank's pony - you own legs; "I traveled on shank's mare" I love the Yorkshire accent. I could listen to it all day and all night.

    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  23. Known Human says As an American mail, I'm a sucker for most former-empire accents.
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  24. amelia says Accents in general are kick-ass.... lately, I've been jonesin' for a Brooklyn/NYC one, though... anyone from NYC want to call and leave messages on my voicemail so I can hear your voice? [I'm really just kidding... kinda...] :)
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  25. Known Human says "mail"...I need more coffee. Or more booze. Where's it after 5 now?
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006

    Permalink posted 10/24/2006

    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  29. Known Human says Ha!
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  30. tybees says I, for one, prefer the awesomeness of "Red Light Indicates Doors are Secure".
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  31. Anna says That's another version of their awesomeness, Tyler. Any version is welcome. :)

  37. Anna says Andrea & John, some things are forbidden on my MOG. Among them one may find Star Wars quotes & football. Proceed with caution, gentlemen.
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  38. Neill says I feel a football clique growing in mog....

  40. Dale says SHEARER, SHEARER, SHEARER! TOON ARMY! Sorry, still trying out that Geordie thing, in a never-ending quest to impress Helen. And yes, I do know he's retired.
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  41. Joxley says Anna, you should have thought about that before you posted on the Arctics. @ Logani, Alex and Jamie from the band are regulars at Hillsborough. It's good to see another Owl on MOG, I am quite a big fan, although not living in Sheffield I don't get to many games. You could keep up with them through the "website":http://www.swfc.co.uk but it makes rather grim reading nowadays.
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  42. Sureshot says Yorkshire, nothing but a bunch of cricket loving Dingles :P The county produces some kick ass bands though, gotta give you that Joxley. Before you retaliate by throwing the pudding remember where you're living now. Wouldn't want the Wars of The Roses all over again ;)

  46. Sue Slug says a first listen here and they are pretty impressive for such young-ish lookin lads!
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  47. max says may i dare to disagree, with the exception of No Buses, which I actually broke my little "too cool" indie barrier and played on my radio show, i did, however, apologize to my listeners for such self indulgence :)
    Permalink posted 10/24/2006
  48. Anna says chefs addiction , I wouldn't have the foggiest idea. Sue, yes, yammy :) max, like my friend Justin once said, LA LA LA LA LA LA WHAT I CAN'T HEAR YOU LALALLA! But it's the first time you comment on my MOG ever, so I'm going to let you get away with disagreeing.

  49. max says haha, it appears i'm quite late in the anna revolution, word on the block is you're the next tom :)...no joke, i actually had this dream that mog was in some headline and the sub-headline was..."Anna leads the MOG revolution", thanks for letting me get away with my little shred of snobbery, it's always appreciated( though not encouraged often or i get too zealous for my own good :)

  54. Anna says Max, I can forgive your disagreement, but I will not have you calling me names on my own MOG! The next Tom & such! :P And hush, you are making me blush :) Kinoshawk, that statement & the fact that you listed Make This Go On Forever on your MOG the way you did, just got you trusted.
