2 MOG years.

Posted over 3 years ago

Yesterday, I booked my first one-way ticket ever. On September 11th, I'm leaving Greece forever (OK, that's a bit melodramatic, let's say that I won't be living here anymore). On September 11th, a plane will be taking me far away from the memories of the people who care if I live or die. I will be chasing a starlight in the UK.

2 years ago, if someone told me that I would be doing that, I'd have laughed and then sighed. Thing is, MOG was the catalyst. The warm-hearted, passionate people I met, the knowledge & confidence I acquired, the European cities I had the chance to visit, the ability to cushion certain life blows with its help, all played a role. And, of course, the ultimate realization that would redefine my life: just how much I love music, and just how far I'd be willing to go for that love.

You electrify my life. And conspire to ignite.

I promised never to leave MOG if it promised not to fade away my hopes and expectations.

And 2 years later, I'm still here. :)

I promise that I will be chasing a starlight until the end of my life, through black holes and revelations.

And I will.

This song is for you all. You filled these 2 e-years with bliss. Thank you for everything.

Tyler, merci! I wanted to sneak up on the British, but I thought that my 2 year MOGniversary would be a good opportunity to reveal all :)

Thank you, Van! That's true. Unless they lock me up with stalking accusations within the first week.

    {hahahah we have scenery to compensate ;) }

MrFrost, it didn't even cross my mind till a friend of mine pointed it out to me. The cost of the flight was much cheaper that day and he wondered if it had anything to do with the date.

    Thank you kindly!

I am so very proud of you, and if you want to give MOG some credit for finding the courage to chase your future, so be it, although I think you don't give yourself enough credit for being the amazing woman you are.  Good luck and remember there will be some hard times--nothing worth having is easy.

As for flying on 9/11...Lizzalicious and I are both flying to Denver that day.  Fuck the terrorists--I'm not scared.  We three will perhaps share the atmosphere at the same time.  :)

First off, thank you for two terrific years of thoughtful, funny, inspiring posts, wacky e-antics, and smart, sweet support in our various threads. (English as a second language, my ass!) There's a reason why I didst dub thee High Priestess of MOG. (You can't be queen of MOG - we all know it's an autocracy run by a single, benevolent ruler. Hi, MOGfather!) And now, you're setting up your temple in the U.K. If you are positioning yourself for an American invasion, be advised: We have the craft-brewed beer in the cooler, nightclubs aplenty - and better food than England. Safe journeys, Anna! I have no doubt that, wherever you go, you will conquer!

Great baby Jesus, Anna, you're setting a helluva precedent. At first I was gonna respond to this because you hit yr two years, and you'd already congratulated me on mine, but this jumping countries thing throws off the whole glib comment.

If you don't make me think yr forgiven.

Hah, got in some glibness regardless. Well, I hope you like the UK, anyway you should be able to catch some bands you like on a more regular basis. That is, I hear they have music over there. I've lived in the U.S. my whole life and have had to settle for only the bands that play in this country.

Anyway, back to best wishes, moving can be fun and I sure as hell hope the big move is big fun for you. I think the one thing I'd make sure to do is drink Guinness in Ireland. But I trust you to take care of your drinking needs. Cheers!
