  1. Joxley says Ususually at a gig when someon crashes into me and sends the barrier deep into my solaplexus:) For me it has to be the feeling you get at a live show when you think to yourself "holy shit...that really is so'n'so and they are just metres away from me!"

  2. Anna says I don't know what ''solaplexus'' is, but it sure sounds naughty ;) Yeah,I hear that,it's like watching holograms and not actual human beings.

  3. Dale says Your posts ;) "Post Blue" did it for me, as do a few songs that I've been introduced to here, that just kick me in the gut and scream, "YOU LOVE ME! SAY IT! SAY IT!" (Can't help it that the voices in my head sound like Sam Kinison)

  4. SWozniak says Not much anymore. I think the thing that most takes my breath away is getting away from 'civilization' and realizing that I'm just a kind of animal. I like it when I'm outdoors, miles away from where I get cell phone reception, and the sound of cars. Those moments are the best.

  5. Anna says Awwwww that is a seriously pleasing compliment. ahahha Yeah, some songs yell at me too!!

  6. Anna says Oh Shawn I can't say I feel that too.I need my civilization luxuries & noises.

  7. Joxley says Shawn I think you really nailed it on the head then, the most breathtaking thing I've ever felt was standing on the top of "Glittertind":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glittertind looking round I could see for 150km and there was nothing but snow, rock and sky. btw Anna, "solar plexus":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celiac_plexus isn't rude, you just have a dirty mind, lol.

  9. Truth says For the past 6 weeks, it has been when the moments when my newborn son responds to what I play on the stereo. Like: seeing him smile to Talking Heads and Stevie Wonder watching him drift away to sleep to something by Mozart or Nick Drake or Tosca

  10. Anna says Truth that really sounds unbelievably fullfilling :) Oh and in case you missed my comment on lemontwist's post, I am filled with awe over the fact that you have a Tale's From The Crypt poster in your room.

  11. that1guy says it's usually not just one thing in particular, it's a series of events that are either planned or unplanned. For example, I went to see Deftones in Denver, they were playing on a saturday, I headed up there on a friday. When we got to Denver we found out that Minus the Bear was playing less than an hour away in a town called Fort Collins. On the way to FC I got to see the sunset behind the Rocky Mountains on a clear evening, it was beautiful. When we got to FC we went to a super good food house and then went to the show where I ordered 3 jack and cokes, got a little tipsy and watched one of my favorite bands play all of the songs I wanted them to play. It's the moments where life just clicks that are to be appreciated. I can't wait to watch the sunset over the pacific on the central coast of Oreogn where the sky looks like a painting instead of real life. I suppose the most general answer is beauty.

  17. patthinker says Bowie's 'Life on Mars' kind of does that to me. I couldn't really tell you what the song's about, but when he hits that chorus ... damn, dude.

  18. democlez says And All That Could Have Been by Nine Inch Nails played so loud that it's the only thing you can hear. The build up is so fantastic that at the peak I get that flutter in my stomach as if I was on a roller coaster. Breath taking indeed.

  19. CrashPryor says playing in front of...20K people for the first time at a music festival in NC back in the day and having strangers sing a tune I'd written for myself and was talked into recording (I remember exactly where I was when I wrote it)...hearing your music on a proper LP (again) for the first time...I remember what I was wearing the day the first batch hit came out...meeting your childhood heroe onstage (can be very good or very bad but your breath gets taken)...and lastly, but not least, I have a soft spot in my heart for...female bass players!!!
    Permalink posted 09/11/2006
  20. Anna says Ah CrashPryor I didn't know you are a musician, you have been withholding important information from me. :) Yes,I can more than see how these were breath-taking (music)related experiences. And female bass players are hawt. patthinker and democlez thank you for sharing :)

  21. Dale says Hearing Joshua, my youngest son, sing "Hey ho, let's go!" as I'm shepherding him and his brother to the pool last week. That melted my heart. And I don't care that he picked it up from a TV commercial, I can tell the kid'll have good taste, I also caught him singing along to The Vines' "Get Free" and bouncing along to The Hives.

  32. angeldawn says Anna's right eye takes my breath away! Combined with your develish grin ; - > Oh, music related, well I'm with Amy on the hubby look. But, that's still not music related. Hmm..., certain gospel music can just bring me to tears without warning. There's a latin song that's called something like Quando Calliente del Sol, I think. If the right voice sings it along with a simple guitar accompaniment, the world stops for a moment.
