We should not forget how music has progressed and the emotion that can be transmited through music. Gill-scott is a perfect example of a true musician both cultraly and musicly, his millitancy and his desire to express a message through the medium of music should not be forgotten and should be kept ever close through a period of music loosing its cultral heritage (im speaking from someone exposed to the english radio and media. Lets revive soul in all its forms and keep the music were it should be, with the people

Gil Scott Heron's contribution to the evolution of rap n hip hop cannot be over stated. His fusion of mellow Jazz & FolkSoul music, his discerning eye & ear for the rhythms & colors of 'the hood' resulted in some incredible sounds in the '70's. A clown, a conscience, a tortured soul, Mr Heron's sad fall, resurrection, and subsequent relapse, all too well documented, should serve as a reminder to everyone how dangerous addictions can be.

"Four-letter words or four-syllable words won't make you a poet, it will only magnify how shallow you are and let ev'rybody know it." Gil Scott Heron

I have always liked and respected him, but never owned anything. I have got to remedy this some time.

This is a phenomenal post. His work is fantastic, and I really can just sit back and groove to the truth he lays down. Beautiful

DJ Bone, subject detroit. One of the most sought after Dj's coming out of Detroit at the moment. His actual emotion mixes (download the here, http://vuistdikkeramlat.web-log.nl/vuistdikkeramlat/2008/02/dj-bone---actua.html shows his passion for his music and its historical evolution, true master of house. He brings a new dimension and feel to the house scene. As you may of realized from my previous posts i really feel electronically Detroit is were its at

Ive been reminiscing alot recently and thinking about what songs did for me psychologically. I listened to alot of music when i was young but for some reason certain ones stick out, the weird thing is theres no particular reason, its not that there my favorite or anything they just seemed to evoke a memory or a memory of a emotion that imbeded itself in my mind for some reason, so here we go....

Bob Dylan- Mr. Tamborine Man

Immortal Technique- Dance with the deivil

Prodigy- Wind it up(the whole album in fact)

Task force- March of the Beatnicks

Pendulum- Another Planet

Please post yours, witha little explanation if you feel it, music's a wierd thing
