I wasn't into hard rock until I heard the Foo Fighters' song "Best of You", which blew all of my expectations of the hard rock genre. I often equated hard rock with pointless, screaming metal, which was quite the mistake on my part. The smart vocalist for the Foo Fighters never screams for the sake of doing so, instead using screaming as a way to convey powerful, evocative emotion. The music video for "Best of You" is all at once emotionally resonant, aggressive, and edgy. It will redefine your view of not only the hard rock genre but also the Foo Fighters themselves. They certainly got the best of me and I will never be the same! Long live hard rock!

Yes! The Foo Fighters use the screaming in a very good way. Only when necessary to convey the emotion of the lyrics. Dave Grohl is a great musical talent. Open minds never hurt anyone.

Are we far enough away from the event now to say that the Foo Fighters are better than Nirvana? I sure hope so.....
