When Alternative Tentacles first announced the release of "Fuck World Trade":http://www.alternativetentacles.com/product.php?product=799 (2004) by "Leftover Crack":http://www.alternativetentacles.com/bandinfo.php?band=leftovercrack some record stores objected to the cover art and refused to carry it. Check out the image below: it's a photo collage featuring the WTC as the second plane was about to hit the South Tower, with Bush pumping gas from a tank labeled "Halliburton" and Cheney with a lit mach, as well as current presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani with a radio controller aimed at the plane. As far as political commentaries go, this image may not be the most sophisticated, but it does have an added resonance due to all that's happened since 2004.When this record came out, the invasion of Iraq was only a year old. Now that it's been four years and the tide of public opinion has turned, we wonder how many stores who refused to carry "Fuck World Trade":http://www.alternativetentacles.com/product.php?product=799 would reconsider? By the way, the official death toll for the 9/11 attacks is at 2973. As of today, the US military casualty stands at 3774 in Iraq and 372 in Afghanistan (the casualty count for all of coalition forces is at 4072 and 617 respectively). "IraqBodyCount.org":http://www.iraqbodycount.org/ estimates the civilian deaths in Iraq somewhere between 71,720 and 78,296. Surprisingly, no one is keeping an accurate count of civilian casualties in Afghanistan according to this article on "Counterpunch.org":http://www.counterpunch.org/szabo07202007.html.
