Okay, this is one of those rare finds, a musician that has an almost totally unique look and sound (to me anyway, I've never heard anything else like it). With a mix of punk, rock, electronic and goth with more than a dash of classical it just seems to work. All logic says it shouldn't, but it does.

Anyway, I found this on youtube so if you don't know who the hell I'm talking about now you can find out...

I love goth girls :), though I'm not to 100% convinced of their music. I'll see, if I find more on this group, to make up a definitive decision. Thanks for the hint.

Hah, found just this "video" of her ... . The text is great and song not bad either.

I'll check out your other post. You might like my post on Gothic Erotic in general and the band "The Retrosic" in particular.

First apologies for not posting earlier, it's halfway into February nearly and this is my first post of 2008. It's been a hectic 2008, not least of all the fact that my bro has been in hospital for the last couple of weeks having undergone a major operation to remove brain tumours. The good news is he survived the op is is now recovering in hospital. Only time will tell how much he recovers, we're still not sure how much brain damage he's suffered as a result of the op.

My bro's op however is one of the reasons for this post. Have you ever found yourself in a position where you ask yourself "how the hell did this happen?" The reason I ask is I had a moment like that, where I suddenly reflected on how I was talking to the wife of Huw Lloyd Langton on the telephone passing on updates on my bro's condition. You see my bro is an old friend of Huw's and as a result I ended up talking to the wife of one of my childhood heroes (Hawkwind was one of the first bands I got into as a kid).

Through conversation good wishes were passed back and forth and some news. Huw's recording again and is writing new material for an upcoming album, with luck it should be complete by this time next year and I'm looking forward to hearing it. During the 80's he gave Hawkwind a distinct sound, so here's Huw with Hawkwind, live at Stonehenge.

When was the last concert you went to? Real concert, big stage, lights and towering amps, not the local pub band. For me it was back in about 1993. I went to see ZZ Top in Milton Keynes with Bryan Adams supporting. The afternoon was taken up with Little Angels and Thunder (although we were late arriving due to a bust radiator). It was a great day, one of the hottest that year, and I remember it clearly even now.

15 years later and I finally get around to going to another concert. This time it's a small(ish) venue. The Arena at Oxford's Carling Academy. This morning 2 tickets arrived on my doormat.

I'll be taking my cousin to see Electric Six, a band that I understand to be really entertaining live. Even after all these years the thought of seeing a band live sets my nerve endings alight with anticipation. It's been far too long and by god am I looking forward to seeing a proper live act again!

Man, oh man. Reading this makes me wish I was going to a big concert! I've missed a lot of good shows in the past year or more, though my last concert was Red Hot Chili Peppers, who always put on a good show. By the sounds of the Electric Six, I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun seeing them live. I'll have to live vicariously :)

Due to a series of unfortunate circumstances I've not been able to go to this gig. However as a consolation prize I will be going to the Download Festival this year for the first time... Oh well, Download looks like a lot more fun anyway...
