this is attempt 2 as the computer froze when posting the last one. It took me 20 minutes to recover

There is this one song, 'The Twist' which i do those handjives to, like in rilo kiley's 'the frug'. they also sound quite similar.

The Modern Leper is their chosen single, so it has the good guitar base, and then quite a U2 chorus, which just to say to brittanybf, isnt so bad here. i promise.

There are dark tunes, like Fast Blood which is pacey (is that spelt like the guy from Dawson's Creek or not?)
and keep yourself warm.

There are a few songs i'd listen to every day if i could, and the rest of the album is sound.really good british rock. but the good kind of rock. and im really avoiding saying 'indie', so alternative rock is my description of choice.

how was that for a very bad review, Mark Kermode i am sadly not, but at least i dont look like a scary vampire. seriously, his face freaks me out.

Alex, this must be one the most descriptive reviews I've read in while. And I've read more than a fair amount. The track on offer sounds pretty spunky, with a hint of Brit rock which can sometimes be so annoying but isn't here.

Incidentally, are we talking about the most irritating or multi-platform Mark Kermode who's singing his own praises instead of talking about the films he didn't see? -- If so, I wholeheartedly agree with you: he's ghoulish tw*t.

You had me at "U2 chorus." (Actually, you had me at "there is this one song" 'cause I like the album.)

OK, so a really funny thing happened today.
It was my sisters birthday on the 2nd(22) and my brother (23) who we hadn’t seen in a few weeks was like ‘yeah I’ll bring her something on Monday’.
So today, he came and brought this huge square thing wrapped in blue metallic paper, I tried to guess what it was but i gave up after shaking it so much my brother yelled.
So my darling sister comes home, opens that mysterious package all excited, and something probably furthest from what I thought it was, seriously , if it was a present of elephant eggs I couldn’t have been more surprised.

It vas dis:

Yes I took time out of my hatred of my brother to get this from googleimages…

So this Radiohead thing is for a sister, who not only has not heard Radiohead in 8 years, but has neither Radiohead, or any guitar based music , or whatever it is that people who listen to Radiohead also listen to but, or what I listen to, on her Ipod.
im basically there, eyes popping out like a disney throwback, while my sister goes ‘oh wow, I didn’t know they were still going on, yeah that’s cool’.

Whoope dooo

But I found it quite funny that my brother would get my sister, who is also rather a girly sister, a, in my opinion, a guy’s idea of what a great present is.
Like what they would probably pay stupid amounts for just because its rare and shit like that.

Am I hiding my burning jealousy well

I know material treasures; no matter how goddamn beautiful they are arnt going to help you in the, achem,‘afterlife’

So until i grasp the idea that presents do NOT equal love.
I shall probably dream about that radiohead box till the day i meet Thom Yorke and tell him i have an older uncle whose name is also Thom with a H.

quick thing.

no rational reason why this song should make me think of really sad things, but it does, and GODDAMN ,
crying sad, like when the hero dies in gladiator and butch and sundance-yes not real but its hard to tell sometimes.
im SURE this has happened to someone else.
i definately am sure of that

it reminds me of someone crying you know? like the guitar or someone is. you know like someone is always praying, and someone is crying.

i didnt know where else to go.
so dear mog
when im older, make sure i dont forget about this
i might just put it on every mix cd i make...just so i dont.

you know when you only have one really lovely cupcake left which you dont eat it, you keep it for an age, and then eventually throw it away 'cause of mould and the usual shit that happens to stuff

feel good having deleted myspace
i dont have to think about that side of the world every time i switch on the computer.

so i haven't really lost anything. i havnt been contributing to the general mog, so next post, i promise.

someone must have songs like this? you lean into the computer, and its all very strange

Bartleby says:

I'm with Brittany and rejoice in having you back on active duty... Bon Iver's song is the kind which makes me vibrate and gently sob without really crying.

This song belongs that sweet-sour sort which reverberates in myself:

Another favourite of mine is Bonnie "Prince" Billy:

To finish off, perhaps the song that sets my soul adrift:

Bartleby, thanks for posting these here. I hope they don't get Alex P any more down, heh. I love all of these artists, all pretty new for me. Thanks a lot.
