Cactus World News was one band from the 80's that didn't get it's just rewards. Though they got some airplay on 120 Minutes on MTV they never really made waves on the radio. Maybe they were too similar to U2 (who they toured with), but that should not detract from the quality of Urban Beaches. From top to bottom a great, sweeping, anthemic tour de force. The Bridge, Worlds Apart, and Years Later still fire me up like they did when I stumbled upon the cassette back in the day. I remember sneaking in to Metro (back then Cabaret Metro) in Chicago for the Urban Beaches release party - danced all night. Anyone who likes guitar driven, intelligent, and passionate rock will love this album.
