So Across the Universe was fucking amazing. Fuck the critics, fuck the mass media for giving it low scores. I loved it. I have never seen a movie where they are able to integrate Beatles' songs into the dialogues of the characters. The story does have a slight hint of a plot, but it's all about the music. And the awesome stoner scene right in the middle that felt like being on acid, except without the acid. And the music. I will forever have an image of an old hobo singing "Come Together" . . . but "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "I Am The Walrus" were memorable. Landmark. This movie should be shown everywhere. But I guess there might be an underappreciation since it deals with some harsh themes, I guess. It definitely does not hide behind glass shades when it comes to admitting the openness of drug usage though.Natural high.
