Once upon an import...

A number of years ago, the local international station, KIKU TV, submitted a "Tokyo love story series." The venue was a late night beef bowl shop that disparate folks dropped by at odd hours, some to hook up, others to troll the lonely singles scene. The theme was "The Rainbow Connection" by The Carpenters...which wasn't available on the North American market. Curiousity led me to Google! and eBay. But this track isn't about that, it's about alternate paths. In 1967, 17-year-old Karen Carpenter cut this demo, which has more in common with Rock than the Mamas & Papas original. (Take that, Carpenters posts about Christmas songs!)
