3: Hikaru Utada

Alright, so I'm not a hardcore Hikaru Utada fan, but I like her alright. Mostly due to my obsession with Kingdom Hearts.Back in October of 2002, I first saw the advertisements for Kingdom Hearts on the Disney Channel and automatically fell in love. Luckily, my birthday was around the same time it came out, so I received it from my mom and immediately had to drive over to my dad's house (he owned the PS2) to play it. I've been a huge fan ever since.But besides my obsession with the game, I also got really into the theme song. It was easy enough to find it, since Utada was a pretty famous artist around that time. I enjoyed the English version over the Japanese, but that wasn't the case when I bought Kingdom Hearts 2. Passion is amazing, while I'm barely lukewarm over Sanctuary.Sadly, I haven't listened to much else by her, but I wouldn't mind it really. I just haven't had the interest in Japanese pop that much.

    mutterimieli says I can't remember where I heard her for the first time but I dig her sound. My niece really likes JPop, might have been why I was checking it out at the time. I really love the song "Simple & Clean"

    milkshake says I love Hikaru! I totally loved Simple & Clean when I first heard, then when I heard the original version over the end credits I had to get the KH OST. Which eventually led me to to buying her Deep River CD, though I was a bit wary about it! Loved KH2 as well. I was expecting to be a bit disappointed by Sanctuary but I really love it too! Have you seen the video for Passion, it's great!
