LL Cool J Feuding With Def Jam Records ; New Song "Queens"

Posted over 2 years ago
Still upset that his last album Todd Smith flopped, LL Cool J has been taking his frustrations out on Def Jam Records for the last few months. LL sticks by the claim that his album was not properly promoted, and the new executives at the label (including Jay-z) dropped the ball. A song leaked recently featuring LL and 50 cent, where LL took shots at the company he's called home for the last 20 years

In addition, Cool J's next album Exit 13 will be his last Def Jam effort, and has stated he will not resign with the company. Jay-Z being the president of the label complicates things, "How am I gonna re-sign with competition? I'm not a idiot. I can't depend on that man [Jay-Z] to promote my record while he's somewhere writing rhymes. I'm LL Cool J. I ain't doing that, B."
On the leaked track Queens, many thought Cool J was calling out Jay-Z specifically but he cleared that up recently, "I was never angry at Jay-Z," LL told the New York Daily News. "My issues were with the company, the way they pushed younger artists to the wayside. They deserve to be heard. As a New Yorker, I would love to hear more local artists. This is America. Artists should have a platform."

Exit 13 will be executive produced by 50 Cent, and will be on shelves this winter.
