Posted over 2 years ago
Would you watch advertisements in exchange for free music? If so, you'll have your chance this summer. This service could really make people wonder if "time is money". Can you give up a few moments of your time to watch ads and save that 99 cents?
Spiralfrog, an ad-supported online music service will launch in the United States this summer, according to chairman Joe Mohen's statements at the CISAC Copyright Summit today. Mohen says at the launch date, over two million tracks will be available to users of the service.

Spiralfrog's launch has already been delayed more than once, despite having deals with two of the big four music distributors. The service is currently being tested in canada with a high profile list of advertisers participating. According to wikipedia, spiralfrogs songs will contain Microsofts DRM security, and will not be transferable to cds. Users will also be required to download at least one song per month to keep ther membership.
