Barbara Mandrell, Brenda Lee and H.O.F. director Kyle Young announced the 2007 inductees to the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville today. Vince Gill, Mel Tillis and Ralph Emery have been selected to receive the tremendous honor in October during an invitation only event.

Gill launched his solo career in the mid 80s, and has since played a large role in mainstream country music. Gill has sold over 22 million records, and won over 35 Grammys and CMT awards combined. His national prominence over the last 25 years earned him a spot in the hallowed halls. Gill was thrilled upon hearing the news of his induction.
"Out of all the things you've ever done — it just matters, it matters so much," the 50-year-old country star said in an emotional speech. "We're so blessed to get to be able to do this."
The 75 year old Mel Tillis has written some of the most memorable songs in country music, as well as recording six number one hits of his own. Finally Ralph Emery, the famous disc jockey is being inducted into the hall under the nonperformer category. Emery was one of the most influential DJ's of the 50s and 60s, as well as appearing in movies and television shows in the 70s and 80s. Emery is already a member of the Country Music DJ & Radio Hall Of Fame.
