i just commented on someone's assertion that there is a lack of good modern "r&b" music, and i decided to make my own post about it. i heard this van hunt album by accident, and it surprised the hell out of me. while gnarls barkley (which i like, by the way) is burning its way into minds all over the world (and more than likely wearing out its welcome), this album is hiding out waiting to be discovered. i strongly advise everyone to check it out. i think it is my favorite release of the year to date. boris's "pink" is a close #2, i have not heard the new scott walker yet, and the new wolf eyes has not dropped yet. not a bad year after all.
