
Sometimes a band's name tells you absolutely nothing. Sometimes it tells you absolutely everything. Tigercity. Picture that for a minute. Literally, a city, a metropolis -entirely populated by furry, man-eating, straight from the Jungle Book tigers. Anthropomorphize. Imagine them doing very normal, human things like going to the bank and picking their kids up at school, and even getting drunk on a weeknight when you and I both know they have to work in the morning. Just what would their Tigerparents in their Tigerhouse think of all this Tigernonsense? They might even be Tigerdisappointed in you. There is level of intensely sexual surrealism that comes packaged with the image of a city full of tigers. Something strange and foreign, sleek and dangerous; completely absurd, yet somehow appealing; something you might just leave your Peoplecity to go see. I mean, a tiger driving a TigerHondaAccord to his or her Tigerdayjob? This can't be happening. But in Tigercity, this is all very real. Tigercity, the band, is an amalgam of the images their name inspires. They play what you might call un-ironic, Hall and Oates-styled, light rock. Except this isn't your dentist's office, and they're not tuned into Lite 105. They're actually more "rock" than "light," and they're completely committed to sexing up your evening. On this night in Tigercity, we are mostly here for headliner Junior Boys, but right now you wouldn't know it. These people have picked up their shit, moved out of their houses, and are all temporary residents in a city full of tigers...
