WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Listening to Xanadu? Well, I am.

Xanadu was a movie that I saw some time ago and I remember really really loving it. And I saw these series of short films called The Beaver Trilogy, where a guy from Utah dresses up like Olivia Newton-John sings a song by her. I had never heard that song before so it magnetically hooked me. It's "Please Don't Keep Me Waiting" from Totally Hot.I got heavily into this song and listened to it nonstop on the train ride home. It couldn't be this good, I thought. It's just one of those songs that comes and fades away, but leaving echoes. Very strange, like the words were hypnotic. Remembering Xanadu and that I liked it, I indulged and indulged and indulged. Now I want to see the movie again very badly. It's one of those albums that does the same thing that song did, it hypnotized.I've got quite a fondness for Mull Historical Society. It's one guy I believe who does most of the music, lyrics and singing. He has a song from his first album about a girl who is obsessed with watching Xanadu as I am listening to it. I know you think this is going somewhere, but it'll just trail off.The song by MHS, is a sort of tribute as well as a different version of the song "I'm Alive" by ELO. Maybe there's just similarities because I haven't heard the MHS song in a while. But there's a lyrical part that matches in both songs, both in melody and in feeling. It's great.I love that Xanadu led me to this.
