Passivity
Whilst work cancerously takes over my energies -- indeed, all my waking hours, at least until mid-May -- I have been the recipient of musical joy, let's say, through two channels, links and shuffle. With no time to pursue my preferred mode of engagement with music (sofa, low light, a whole album, turned up loud), I have opted for letting my mp3 library shuffle itself by randomly, giddily, through all hours of the day. And I've made some curious, wondrous discoveries: pieces and songs whose brilliance I had been neglecting (e.g., Wire) or things I had forgotten I had at all (e.g., Telepathe). I hope to write a bit more about some of these once the dust clears from projects at work.Re links: In addition to my discovery of Anthology Recordings, by way of Ethan Zuckerman, a couple of things have arrived in my inbox: Dalston Oxfam Shop; and punkcast.com. Whoah. But enough about music. Everyone knows that links are all about video these days.
