A Brief Update

Haven't really been able to check in here much lately. I can barely pick up an internet signal in my apartment so I guess I will have to actually get the internet. Hopefully it won't be that long before I can do it. Things are going pretty good here in San Antonio and with my new job I am hearing new music all the time. It's amazing. Who could ask for more?I'll check back in ASAP.Brian

You Know You Can Always Count on the Weather
about 5 years ago

I have yet to check the forecast but from what I understand it's supposed to clear up before tomorrow. Which, if that is what it does, is absolutely the most perfect thing ever. Why? Because I freaking love the rain but need it to be dry tomorrow. In honor of the sleet and rain I hav

And if I haven't told you how excited I am about moving to SA and starting my new job, let me just tell you that I am going to be working in a store that carries Joseph Arthur's cd's on hand...that's freaking

A Relevant Excerpt Considering the Circumstances

"I remember the sweet sensation of leaving, years ago, some ten now, leaving Texas for who knows where. I could not have known about this beautiful place, the Oregon I have come to love, this city of great people, this smell of coffee and these evergreens reaching up into a mist of sky, these sunsets spilling over the west hills to slide a red glow down the streets of my town. And I could not have

On Weddings, Fatherlessness, Moving and Growing Up

This weekend was historic. My last single friend got married this weekend. Man, it's amazing how fast time passes. I was the first person out of all of my friends to get married. I have been married now for 4 1/2 years. My friend Rob, with whom I have been friends now for at least 8 years, got married on Saturday to the girl that he has been after since 8th or 9th grade. It was seriously a b

I'm a Mog

So, I'm sure you've seen the same thing I have. Everyone throwing lyrics out there that they feel best represent their feelings about the New Year. And of New Year songs the two most likely choices are probably The New Year by Death Cab for Cutie and New Year's Day by U2. Both excellent songs. Music is so awesome the way that it can speak to a moment in your life. It can bring a deeper life t
