With mere hours to go before the sand runs out of that biggest hour glass of them all - 2007 - I have looked back over the past twelve months to appraise which artists or songs or releases or CDs or songs meant the most to me. And frankly I don't think I listened to anything at all released in 2007.

However I was just listening to WFMU, and was thoroughly charmed by this tune by the four-woman-band Electrelane. I don't recall seeing them on anybody's year-end list, although this clip hit YouTube in Feb. of this year. The song's really simple and pretty and sounds like a bunch of little bells chiming while a milkmaid sings to her cows as she leads them back from the pasture. It's got kind of a New Order stutter beat going on too, but I can't think of anything that happens on a farm that it reminds me of. Anyway, very pretty and charming little number, such as are so easy to find when you listen to Ken's show on the FMU. I could listen to this, I believe, until sunrise.
