WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

Artist:
Album: Little Machines

Peter Kenagy is a great young trumpeter who currently splits time between Boston, where he teaches at the Continuing Ed and Prep School of New England Conservatory, and New York, where he has been playing in various capacities, including his own small combo. Check out his fine CD "Little Machines" on Fresh Sound New Talent, featuring some other great players from the Boston area, including Jeremy Udden. Peter is a fluid lyrical jazz musician with a modern take on some jazz classics and a sometimes wry jazz historical perspective. He is a poet on the horn who seduces you with subtle beauty and a fine sense of new harmonic and melodic interpretation always firmly and brilliantly in the pocket. He is also a bandleader who gives his colleagues lots of space to shine within the boundaries of his own wonderful compositions. A talent to watch.
