Well, I've already posted my Christmas mix from this year, and since I wasn't on MOG last year I thought I'd post my mix from last year as well. I haven't seen many of these tunes being used on many peoples mixes (with a few exceptions, Low being the most obvious one), and I find it a bit unfortunate. While many mixes appear to to be a mix based on the interest of the artist that is performing the song, I focus only on the song itself. Each song has to be great, it doesn't matter who performs it. I certainly wish that the Of Montreal christmas songs were good, but I'll never put them on a mix because they just don't cut it. However, little known bands like The Wee Turtles...their christmas song is just plain fantastic. Check them out...and remember that a mix has to be listenable, not just a list of bands you think are cool. I have to admit, this mix was fueled greatly by the OOP (Out of Print) XFM Christmas comp that was put out in Britain, as well as the OOP Kindercore Christmas comp, Christmas Two. These are 2 of the greatest christmas compilations ever put out...find them if you can.

The 2005 mix was unique in that I paired songs together inbetween a broken up, 22 minute version of David Sedaris' Santaland diaries. The full version is about 45 minutes, which would take up the entire mix. However, I was able to find a stream of the 22 minute version that I grabbed with my handy Audio HiJack application.
