Okay... I just have to say how much I love this French Pop band... In a world of backstreet n'sync pussycat dolls it comforts me to know that pop still has its original appeal elsewhere. I was digging through my CD collection and forgot that I still had the first album that I bought only because I was dating this girl who dragged me to their concert... I hated to admit it then, but now... Who cares? Good music is good music... So... What is everyone else's guilty pleasure in the world of music?

My guilty pleasure(s)? Kelly Clarkson's Since U Been Gone. :) I also have a soft spot for those soft rock songs like Sarah by Starship, and pretty much anything by Hall and Oates. Just reminds me of being a kid and listening to the music my mom would have on the radio.
French pop sounds like a fun genre, one that I've never really looked into. There is one French band that was somewhat techno-pop-ish that I got into for a little while in college, but for the life of me I can't remember the name of them. C'est la vie!

"Guilty Pleasures" was one of the first themes to come up at this Rock Club I have with some friends (it's like a book club, but with songs), so I have a well-prepared answer!
My top guilty pleasure is this album of German Smurfs covering mid-nineties hits in a techno style, with new lyrics about food. It's called Die Schlumpfe Alles Banane. Here is a representative example:
"Picknick-tour, by Die Schlumpfe":http://party.alohamedia.net/wangerfamilie/rock/2006/02/02/picknick.mp3
My guilt stems not so much from how shitty this music is (and it is), but from the fact that I only like it because it reminds me of a Swiss hiking vacation I took in high school. Alles Banane was "#3 in all of Switzerland":http://swisscharts.com/archiv.asp?todo=show&tag=04&monat=08&jahr=1996&sparte=a in the summer of 1996. I'm not usually very nostalgic. Only for Smurfs. Ugh. At least they're pretty hilarious.

That new JT track featuring T.I. ('My Love') is unstoppable to me. I really want to hate his music, but I can't deny the wicked beat and synth line in that song.
Another guilty pleasure involves the older works of one Neil Diamond. 'Hot August Night' is actually one of my favorite live albums of all time...
I could probably come up with a Top 10 list of guilty pleasures. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. ;)
