Edith Piaf's La Vie En Rose

Posted over 2 years ago
La Vie En Rose means Life in Pink. If I am wrong, please correct me. My French is not that great.A French classic. Whenever I think of France, Edith Piaf's song comes to mind!Madeleine Peyroux did an excellent rendition of Edith's song although Edith's is the best! That's just my personal bias!Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

  1. deadmandeadman says Not to be contrary, but I prefer ms Peyroux's version myself. She seems to inhabit the song more comfortably than E.P. But it IS a great song, and both versions are excellent. Good call, 2serenity.

  5. Girlcrawl says Madeleine Peyroux is proving quite a wonderful talent; have two Peyroux releases, and both are fab - Edith is simply in a class alone. Need to drag myself to the cinema as I've heard that Olivier Dahan's film La Vie En Rose is superb, and Marion Cotillard's performance exemplary. Lovely post!

  8. ye-ye girl says I just got back from the film, actually. It's phenomenal- Marion Cotillard's portrayal of Edith is amazing. I have been a fan of Edith's music for quite a while, but had no idea her life was so tragic... anyway, I highly recommend it, and thanks for the post!

  10. Bartleby says Madeleine Peyroux's got a voice for re-creating such classics as Piaf's "La vie en rose." Her version is definitely groovy.
